Rahm Emmanuel Faces Pressure to Resign
Our Country PAC ^ | 12/28/2008 | Howard Kaloogian

Posted on 12/28/2008 2:05:24 PM PST by Impeach98

It's time for Barack Obama's Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel, to resign, and you can sign the petition calling for Rahm Emmanuel to resign - HERE.

The Obama administration has told lie after lie about their involvement in the corruption scandal concerning Illinois Democrat Governor Rod Blagojevich's alleged efforts to sell off the U.S. Senate seat held by Obama.

Days after the November election, Obama's campaign manager, David Axelrod, admitted that Obama and Blagojevich had discussions about who Blagojevich should appoint to replace him.  You can see the video with this admission here:

SEE AXELROD ADMIT OBAMA & BLAGOJEVICH DISCUSSIONS - HERE

But as soon as the announcement came that federal prosecutors had been investigating Blagojevich over allegations of corruption in selling the U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder, Obama's camp suddenly claimed that Axelrod had gotten his facts wrong about whether Obama and Blagojevich had schemed about who should be selected.

Yet, Barack Obama and his aides were telling the media that he and his administration would have a "hands off" approach towards the selection of Obama's successor.

And Rahm Emmanuel specifically denied he engaged in negotiations with Governor Blagojevich about Obama's Senate seat.

But again, Obama's camp was caught lying about their involvement, because wiretaps reveal, and have forced Obama to now admit, that his chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel has discussed not just once but on several occassions who should get the Senate.

Emmanuel not only originally told Blagojevich he should pick Obama's first-choice, Valerie Jarrett, but then later gave Blagojevich a list of names of individuals who would be acceptable for Blagojevich to pick.

In fact, Emmanuel began negotiating with Blagojevich about Obama's successor in the U.S. Senate during the weekend before the 2008 election had even taken place.  The seat was not even yet open, Obama had not yet even won, and Rahm Emmanuel and Rod Blagojevich were already engaged in a powerplay to determine who would be given this Senate seat, and what might be paid/delivered/given for getting this seat.

This is not how our government should work.  Our representatives are elected by the people, work for the people, and answer to the people.  We expect that when a vacancy occurs that our elected representatives will select the best person to represent the people, not that Democrats will engage in horsetrading to cement their fixation for political power.

It's time for Rahm Emmanuel to resign - immediately.  He is a disgrace and has no business serving as Chief of Staff in the White House.

Join the campaign by the Our Country Deserves Better Committee to demand Rahm Emmanuel's resignation by signing the "Rahm Emmanuel Must Resign Petition" here:  http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ResignEmmanuel/

And forward this on to your friends and ask them to sign and foward to their friends as well!

How can one resign a position that doesn’t exist yet?

I guess the MDM thinks there really IS something called “The Office of the President Elect.”

Rahm Emmanuel is Obama’s Himmler. Even if he resigns he will still be a part of Obama’s plans for America, he wrote the book.

No, no, NO. Let him stay wrapped around Obama’s neck like an anchor on a chain.

"So if that happens, will this be the first time there’s been a resignation in the Office of the President Elect?"

A darn good question.

I thought I read something about Obama or some other political types telling the prosecutor to lay off of him and a couple of others.

I think that was on Drudge and was being complied with.
Is there something else I missed? (like that can't happen...HA!)

Where is he and why did he really go to Africa?

To expunge the record of Obama's birth in Mombasa. Let's see how his paternal grandmother's health fares. Covering a lie is a very difficult task. Eventually, somebody misses a detail.

Tomorrow's Headlines (in order):

Mombassa quarantined as feared Ebola outbreak rages

Kenya families affected by Ebola

Obama relatives fall victim to plague

Mombassa hospital area sterilized by government

Life returns to normal in empty Mombassa

Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel killed in tragic plane crash in clear weather

Rahm should stay in “office”. Together with Hillary, ya know, the Obamamessiah himself, Pelosi, Blagojevick, etc, they will create the kind of circus sideshow that will turn the American public off, ya know, on liberals.

Now if the public only had an intelligent conservative alternative to go with!! Ya know (”Sweet” Caroline Kennedy-Schlosserism)

Thanks to the 900 people who've already signed this petition within the past 1 1/2 hours!

I think that it's interesting that before Obama has even been sworn in that we're seeing from the administration not only corruption and lies, but a total contempt for the media and the public.

They think that no one should be allowed to even ask them questions about blatant wrongdoing.

Bad timing, we must wait until he resigns his Congressional seat before we put too much pressure on.

The investigation has just started. Who knows what will happen? Maybe we get lucky and they both resign. One can always dream, right?

I notice a few FReepers have said this the past few weeks, but I think that this misses the point that the media will shield Obama, and not tell the American people the truth.

As much as the media are now somewhat down on Obama, the alternative for them would be to see liberals proven wrong. They don't want that, so they will do what they can to protect Obama.

I want each member of the Obama administration to face the heat and consequences of their action each and every time they engage in wrongdoing.

Otherwise if people like Emmanuel don't have to resign then we establish that this behavior is OK. It's not.

Maybe you are right. But even the media will be hard pressed to make this collection of fools look competent.

I hated Clinton and hate his wife. But they ARE smart people, even if morally corrupt and philosophically incorrect.

The Blagojevik-Daily-Reid-Pelosi axis is nothing if not stupid politically. If the Repubs had fielded an intelligent candidate instead of a twisted curmudgeon, and had the economy not tanked and had Bush been significantly more intelligent than mentally challenged Gore or Kerry, the Obama would have crashed like a rocket. If you put together all the loony leftists, collegiate sophomorons, and dazzled black voters, they wouldn't alone have been enough to put the Obamanation in the White House.

I hope you are right :-)

I just fear that in politics it seems that the liberals rationale is that when they get away with doing something wrong that it sets the standard in the future that when one of them commits similar wrongdoing, we are told that there is nothing new here, we should all just move along.

Is that a real photo of Rahm Emmanuel in his ballet days?? It sure looks like it. Hilarious.

"One two three, plie, four five six, jetee, jetee, jetee..." And yet even in ballet his li'l mouth is always OPEN and BLABBING.
