Caroline Kennedy took a page from Hillary Clinton's playbook and began an upstate listening tour On Wednesday.
The road trip included stops in Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo to help convince Gov. David Paterson and voters she's the one to replace Clinton in the U.S. Senate.
But it was a tough crowd.
The black SUV pulled up to Syracuse city hall Wednesday morning. It was stop one on Kennedy's upstate tour.
But after meeting with Mayor Matt Driscoll, she ran into a buzz saw -- angry reporters who wanted her to do more talking and less listening.
"But you've never held public office so what experience [do you have]?" one reporter asked.
Actually, she did speak briefly in Syracuse.
"I wanted to come upstate and meet with Mayor Driscoll and others to tell them about my experience and also learn more about how Washington can help these communities," Kennedy said.
Her quick remarks fell flat. Reporters seemed to feel brushed off and they pursued her out.

I am old enough to have watched the Kennedy assignation saga and funeral on live T.V. I was a mere child at the time. During this period I developed a tremendous crush on little Caroline at that time.
Try as I may, I can’t help but wish her well in getting this job. I know, politically, we are oceans apart but .......
She doesn’t need experience. She’s a liberal, and a Kennedy. That’s all you need in a blue state like NY.
Upstate and Western NY will not like her at all. I used to live in the western tier and back then it was still a very republican area. Unfortunately NYC seems to be able to trump whatever the other areas want. I agree with them, she has zero experince but since when did that stop anyone? We have a President elect who has zero experince might as well keep up the stupidity?

The latest O appointments, Vilsack and Salazar were meant to show the country that he values rural America.
Well, that ought to be quite the shock to Colin Powell who took great offense at Governor Palin praising small town America.
These hypocrites are irking my last nerve.
She’s perfect for New York. All she has to do is vote with the Democrats on every issue and when asked why she voted in such a way, she can continue being mute. At least we won’t have to listen to any hollow liberal rhetoric from her.

Nobody cares about Upstate NY. The politicians only show up here when they want something. We are expected to fund downstate and no one cares that our economy is in the toilet - and was long before all this latest came down.

The only reason that Caroline Kennedy is a serious contender is memories of Camelot. If she gets appointed, we should all join together and sing “What Do Simple Folk Do?” to commemorate her.
a good question for everyone — why the heck did the voters elect Hillary? why did they let her get away with that listening tour horse_______? I understand why Hillary did it, because she allegedly wanted to learn about her adopted home state. Hillary turned the concept of actually being from a state you represent in Congress on its head. But the voters are the ones who let her get away with it.

Would a separate State of Upstate New York be more Republican and more prosperous than West Virginia? Would it do well if it was free of NYC?
Well, I doubt we’d be rolling in dough, but you can bet we wouldn’t be as generous with the social programs as Albany is. As for more Republican....Let’s just say we’d be more conservative :)
