The Caylee Anthony case took a dramatic turn yesterday when a child's skeletal remains were found approximately three-tenths of a mile from the home of Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony. Since that time, the remains have been sent off for positive identification and a search warrant has been obtained for the Anthony family home.
Investigators conducting the search of the home have been seen removing enough items to fill up at least three vehicles. The search, which began yesterday evening, continued until early this morning.
A sheriff's deputy has now been posted in front of the house to guard what is now being described as a "crime scene" by the sheriff's office. A sheriff's office helicopter is also patrolling the area to ensure that no one attempts to corrupt the crime scene.
Items removed from the Anthony family home include: three vacuum cleaners, two pesticide tanks, a small pillow, seven large paper bags and four boxes of potential evidence.
Kevin BearyDuring an interview with CNN, Orange County sheriff Kevin Beary said that investigators "absolutely" found something of interest while searching the home.
In a separate interview with "The Today Show," Beary said that something found with the child skeletal remains prompted the search.
"We know that there's some clues that came out of the remains found yesterday and that's why we've kind of linked it back to the house. That's why we did everything proper, got a search warrant and secured the premises and searched into the wee hours this morning," Beary said.
Investigators are planning to continue the search later today. They also plan on conducting another search of the area where the child skeletal remains were found.
The remains have since been sent to the FBI crime lab in Quantico, Virginia, where experts are conducting expedited testing to identify them. According to Beary, a positive ID could take up to two weeks.
Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, has filed an emergency motion to ensure that defense experts can be present while the remains are tested. A hearing to rule on that motion has been scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today.
Crime SceneMeanwhile, a source inside the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office has said that the death penalty that was recently taken off the table would be reconsidered if the remains are proven to be Caylee. It was just one week ago that the state attorney's office announced they would not seek the death penalty against Anthony in the first-degree murder of Caylee.
Events that have transpired in the last 24 hours were set in motion yesterday morning, when an Orange County water meter reader discovered child skeletal remains inside a black plastic garbage bag near Chickasaw Trail and Suburban Drive in Orlando.
The worker immediately notified police and the area was cordoned off as a crime scene. Sources close to the investigation say that remnants of duct tape were found on both the skull and the trash bag.

That is so true. I didn’t see all of that trial, but my Mother was very interested and I saw bits and pieces. Marcia seemed enthralled by such a high profile case and always seemed to be playing to the camera instead of just doing her job.

It is very reasonable that the volunteer search units missed this bag with a 30 lb. toddler in it.

Since they are now claiming the house is a crime scene, I am assuming they feel she was killed/died inside the house?
maybe, but not necessarily. i was thinking that they might be looking for duct tape or trash bags to match up with what that in which they’d found the remains. i was in and out today so i didn’t hear Geraldo on this as to what the theory might be.
Investigators took away three vacuum cleaners. The expert on TV said this might indicate fiber evidence—whether from the house or the car trunk, I don’t know.
I can't wait to here the latest story from Casey on this. I hope to God they have Casey's fingerprints all over the plastic bags. I want her NAILED. I want her cornered where NO LIE will cover for her. I also hope they revisit capital punishment. Casey earned it. Her mother she be tried for obstruction of justice and be made to formally apologize for these endless wild goose chases that she put people through all to keep reasonable doubt alive for a jury trial. They should be ashamed of themselves.

There is tape on the mouth. If the skull rolled out as they claim, it is most likely because the neck was broken.

I was shocked to hear a “mother” would do this. I'd NEVER heard of chloroform used for THIS.
The photographer that took them attests that were taken when Caylee was missing. They were not “old pictures”.
What a miserable wretch she is.
It appears that Casey would rather hide the death of her daughter from everyone because of some fear she had of her mother.
I think Casey used chloroform to put the baby to sleep so she could go party. The baby died and she couldn't stand the thought of telling her mother what happened so she put the body in the trunk of her car and finally disposed of it near her parents house.
Its a sad story, the grandparents have lost their only grandchild and daughter.
She was celebrating the death of her daughter.
Don’t be surprised when George admits to dumping the body OR Casey turns on him an d reveals that fact.
Casey was NOT lying when she said “I most certainly DO NOT know where the body is”
George is NOT just grieving survivor he may have particpated in the grisley event
Think about what George said about the smell He changed it a few times AS DID CINDY “the puppeteer” of George / Cindy pulls the strings and George Jumps
And I suspect George was driving the car home from the impound yard and stopped to look in the trunk ( we take Georges word for the fact the Yard owner looked in the trunk, I hope the police talked with the yard man and did not fall into the “Poor George” syndrome )
When he saw it was Caylee he dumped the Body
