Obama: Gun owners do not need to stock up

As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month.
...
But National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said it's not Obama's words but his legislative track record that has gun-buyers flocking to the stores.
...
"Anyone who thinks they need to rush out and buy a firearm clearly has not been paying attention to how quickly we make progress on this issue. We don't think these are first-time buyers. We think they are people who already have more than enough guns at their homes to protect themselves and are buying more."

Anybody know a good place online to sell guns? I have a .44 Blackhawk that I want to sell and not real up to date on marketplaces.

This is a situation I don't understand. WHO would we be defending from? Think about after Katrina and New Orleans. The deputies came and took the guns, whether they were registered or not (some got some nice weapons out of that deal as I'm sure the original owners didn't get them back).
If a deputy came to your house, and you refused to turn over your weapon, if he didn't kill you, he would call a SWAT team. If they didn't kill you (unlikely), they would turn it over to the next level of defense (federal probably), who would bump it up and up until you had the tanks, etc. in your front yard.
Could you shoot a deputy (possibly a friend or neighbor) who came to take your gun? I couldn't. Same thing all the way up the ladder. We would be shooting at friends and neighbors, and the federal government has far more fire power than we do.
I'm not trying to be a smart(alec), but I really don't understand this.

If the deputy had any sense, he/she would report there are no firearms in the house, just as the homeowner stated.

When my “friends and neighbors” become part of a tyranical government they are no longer...well...friends, at least.

There are some rare choke/flash suppressor units, too. Not easy to find, and unless you have a Saiga-12, rather pointless.

In NO, they just went in and searched, then took the weapon and the owner. We supposedly have “search and seizure” laws, but if any kind of warrant was presented, it wasn't shown on T.V. One time, four or more burly policemen went into an elderly woman's house, confiscated her gun, and when she protested verbally, they took her down. Those policemen needed their come-uppance, but shooting them?? This is boggling my mind. I think of Ruby Ridge. Wasn't that the same situation there?

My wife and I bought ammunition this weekend before buying for Christmas. Next on tap is a practical home alarm system and stocking up a new pantry with non-perishable foodstuffs. Then we'll round it up with seed and gardening supplies.
Once all that's done we'll see if we have anything left for Christmas gifts.

The 3” piece is because some states can’t have a certain ammo capacity and that piece fills up space, thus “technically” reducing the capacity. Take it out and leave it out.

That is precisely why a smart deputy would state there are "no firearms on the homeowner's person or in the house" in any official reports. In fact, that exact report should be repeated approximately 80,000,000 times if a directive is given to obtain private firearms. What's in it for law enforcement officials to suddenly make peaceful, law-abiding people into criminals?

He’s talking about the barrel not the magazine (if “magazine” is correct in shotgun terminology).

To: stockpirate
Without seeing the gun i think your refering to the choke, which would mean the gun could accept 2 different size shells
To: DemforBush
I would suspect that those who lost jobs would by a gun so they could feed their families? plenty of time and lots of edibles around? Just a thought
