No mention of vote counts; I suppose it’s beyond the possibility of a recount?

There are enough RINOs in the Senate so the RATS will have their filibuster-proof wish.

9:10 p.m. update: Chambliss wins
The Associated Press has announced that Saxby Chambliss of Moultrie has won re-election to the U.S. Senate. The notice was sent to AP-affiliated newspapers at 8:56 p.m., but without any vote totals.
The most recent vote totals, which were sent one minute before the announcement of victory, said with 1,807 of the state’s 3,303 precincts reporting, Chambliss had 702,350 votes (60 percent) to Democrat Jim Martin’s 468,143 (40 percent).

So where does that leave the balance of power in the U.S. Senate?
56-42-1?
What are the actual numbers? (I know, we're still waiting on results from the Minnesota race.)
To: AmericanMade1776
Sarah Palin campaigned for Chamblis in Georgia. I have to think that helped. She is the biggest star in the GOP at the moment. This win will help keep the democrats from the 60 vote filibuster proof Senate they crave. Hopefully, Frankin will not win against Coleman in Minnesota, but that race is very close.

I’ll take what victories I can get this year.
Now all we need is Coleman to git ‘er’ done in Minnesota.
If that happens, I’ll only be dreading the next 4 years, rather than being terrified by them. ;-)

In other news, a FrankenCam has been set up in Al Franken's campaign headquarters to document his latest reaction to Norm Coleman's leading vote count.

Hey, isn’t Georgia the state that instituted strict voter registration laws including requiring photo ID and proof of citizenship?
Just asking...
