I need to purchase handguns for my family. I prefer private sales. I need a plinger like a 22 and something that is protection. The protection would come in two sizes, one that a full grown adult could use, and one that I could use. I have problems with my hands and need something that won't kick so I dont drop the gun. Something that will fit in the Cabelas purse holster. Are ther also between seat car holsters?
Wouldnt surprise me.
lol
Private seller {you} sells to private buyer {me}. This is the preferred way to conduct firearms transactions. {assuming you know I'm not a criminal} No info enters the database for future registration/confiscation.
You are right. I posted that two years ago, then ran out of money and became more crippled. Now I have the cash and less hands.
Sorry
See above post.
The money I had at the time went to a home emergency. I have saved it up again, and my hands are now seriously compromised.
Its all I can do to control it. Women hate it
I just got a 340PD, and I can vouch for that. Tried it with .357 and with .38 special +P, and without a doubt the .357 is quite painful, even with the crimson trace laser grips that have a bit more cushioning than the standard grips. The .38 special +P also packs a punch, but not enough to stop me from buying the gun (most of my other guns are .45's).
BTW, without meaning to go too far off topic, what do you use for practice ammo?
I agree with your practical answer.
And the grip is to damn small
De Nada.
SW Lady Smith should be looked at. Someone at your local gunshop will be able to help you more-—or give you a name of someone who specializes in personal protection firearm fitting and basic NRA classes.
The best to you
My wife knows how to shoot and my youngest showing is showing interest.
You are doing the smart thing in your pursuits.
Trying
I use 158 grain semi wadcutter reloads
My suggestion: get out and handle as many different models as you can, while keeping in mind you may be able to customize the gun you settle on. An armorer certified in whatever make you choose would know what can and cannot be altered to fit your needs.
Good luck to you!
Thank you I appreciate everyones help. I am going to see if there is a gun shop with a range around.
Thank you so much for responding.
After I bought the recommended Glock 30, I was ready to go to the range but read in the news that there was a rash of thugs following shooters home from the local ranges and stealing their guns. I held off going and I kept looking at those .45 ACP’s and thinking that’s too much for me. I’ve shot .22 and .25 and I thought .30 wouldn’t be so bad...but those .45’s look heavy duty kicker! So, the Glock is still brand new, never shot.
BTW, how do you sell a gun?
Anyway, I think you are right about the 32 ACP. At the price, I can pick up two. I spend most all my time in two areas of the house and they are far apart so I worried about the logistics.
Thank you again for your response.
Unless the seller closes and then the Feds get em. Have you seen how many FFLs have closed up the past few years?
I bought a S&W642 for carry and started with 158gr.it tore up my web like a Makarov.
did the research and now us the Corbon DPX 110gr +P
Very controllable and no pain.
Yes. And I expect Øbama will force more to close with regulations and fees
I love the Makarov and cant afford corbons for practice
Uh, first I’ve ever heard anyone say that SIGs have high-effort slides. I mean, they surely aren’t any more high-effort than any other top tier semi-auto (H&K, Glock, Beretta, Walther, S&W, etc).
If you truly have no thumbs, you might want to consider a double action revolver. A great choice would be the S&W 686P in a 4” barrel. 7 shots of .357 mag. It can also shoot .38 spl.
