Noonan: Mischievous Media Wants to Make Palin Face of GOP
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Why does Sarah Palin continue to receive so much media coverage? Peggy Noonan has a theory. The Wall Street Journal columnist believes the MSM is up to what she considers "mischief": attempting to make Sarah Palin the face of the Republican party.

Noonan propounded her premise during an appearance today on Morning Joe.

Mitt Romney recently drew about 300 people to a rally in Georgia for Chambliss. Palin will draw ten times that many at each of the four stops she will make in Georgia next week on Chambliss’ behalf; that is, if the state GOP has the foresight to accommodate that many people.

She’s got a bunch more substance than your president elect. You need to read her energy speech.

You have been sucked in by the half truths & lies of the biased media. The media will do the same for any candidate who threatens their agenda.

I would not vote for Palin right now-not even as vice President. I want to hear something other than platitudes. I haven’t heard anything yet.

Earth to Peg! We "the people" LOVE Sarah. We've loved her from the beginning. We don't need the media to promote her. Sarah did, and is doing it, quite well, herself.

Great people like Ronald Reagan don't need a bunch of Noonan’s “new ideas.” Reagan had one great idea - the moral and practical imperative of human liberty.

Did you listen to her speech at the governor’s event? It was not very good and very short on substance.

Is she a Republican, a Democrat or a schizophrenic?

********************

"B" and "C". She's succumbed to Palin Derangement Syndrome.

For anyone interested, go read up on the Alaska Highway Pipeline that Sarah Palin negotiated to be built by TransCanada Corp. Sarah busted the chops of the Alaska oil & gas commission along with ExxonMobil, ConnocoPhillips and BP who had been sitting on their butts for years not wanting to build a much needed gas pipeline coming off the North Slope. In doing so, this new pipeline will provide the USA with 6%-8% of natural gas needs. Iran, Russia, and Qatar are in the process of forming a natural gas cartel. Sarah Palin just beat those three countries in a geopolitical economic war and put the USA on the road to ensured independence for our natural gas needs.

Sarah Palin is a very intelligent woman who is making America energy independent.

Peggy’s an elitist Beltway snob, jealous of Palin’s beauty and connectivity with the masses.

At this rate Peg will soon be invited to write speeches for Zero, about a thousand points of light and some such nonsense!

I will say we have to be careful about battles on issues like Stem Cell research, Terry Shivo, and a federal law banning all abortions. I am not saying that we abandon our principles, or the base of our party conservative Christians, but those ideas must be sold to public to win elections(like partial birth abortion is!). GWB just vetoing stem cell research without a winning PR argument is political death, and makes it easy for press to demonize Palin as representative of what they portray as ‘uneducated christian backward trailer park hicks’. Rush was demonized on Michael J Fox dittocam.

Not fair? Instead of complaining to the choir we need a winning strategy, right now a negative one. GWB, McCain, please go. We are better off with Reid having over 60s seats than having turncoats like Mccain join the democrats.

Maybe because it was days after an emotional election. Maybe because many other Governors at the convention were spouting the same crap that McCain was spouting throughout his campaign that led the way to the Presidential election loss. And yes, I did listen to it, and I did like it. For whatever reason, you do not connect with Governor Palin and that is fine, but for many of us, Governor Palin was someone that we could rally around because she can explain conservatism in a clear way and she IS NOT a bread-from-birth politician.

Same thing they wanted to do with Reagan.

Funny thing, they don’t learn but neither do we.

she also symbolizes what is wrong with the GOP-applause lines, but no new ideas to solve what is some very serious problems in the US.

Argh! I am so sick of the phrase "new ideas". All "new ideas" ever turn out to be are new ways to use the constitution of the United States as toilet paper, and it doesn't seem to matter which party they come from. Here is a new idea for you. Rather, it's an old idea - the constitution, liberty, and a republican form of government.
