The religious character of secularism and the empirical disproof of its validity as religion become apparent through a realistic look at government schooling. The institution is at the same time a self-styled engineer of secular harmony in a country of supposedly intractable religious enemies, and the perpetrator of a vulgar marshaling of children through a state-mandated regimen of bizarre activities in isolation from their families. It amounts to a huge, forcible transgression of freedom in what is said to be a free country and sets the stage for crackpot leftism in the college scene. Overall it makes for a disastrous way to grow up.

The Church proposes, not dictates. Society is free to listen, but Catholics should pay heed in certain areas.

IMO there is a tendency among "classical" Protestants to allow political considerations to overtake or at least "ambiguate" religious ones. So we Catholics have at times been subject to a presumptive suspicion of the supposedly intractable political character of our religion.

That presumptive suspicion is a deeper meaning of the private interpretation of Scripture. It says the socio-political conditions surrounding the act of interpretation bear at least equal weight as the belief-content of the interpretation itself.

Oh! That’ll put you in solid with God.

Remind me not to be in line behind you come judgment day.

I think the blood of Christ put me in solid with God...I don’t think you or whatever man made kingdom you serve and defend will have anything to do with it. :)

How does 501c3 equate to “greed”?

The fact is the State does not mandate the Church pay taxes. That the government uses a 501c3 vehicle has more to do with IRS protocol... not “greed.” Your intensity displays “envy”... on your part.

BTW: What Church, specifically, do you place this libel of “avarice? I suspect your answer; however, I would rather have you make the calumny for all to witness.

Your arguments smack of the fundamentalist hype and the tired conspiracy fables, long spewed form the mouths of discontented heretics. You should be so concerned with the state of your own soul… then you would not be so troubled by the contents of other’s wallets.

Actually I DID have another thought coming but lost it as I was rolling around on my floor in hysterical laughter.....:)

Stiff necked, self-rightous and unteachable aren’t you?

AAWWWW the wonderful fruit of what religion produces....your fruit has ripened well...almost to the point of being rotten and wormy. Prune your branches you’ll do better next year. :)

Show me “where” Christ went to Rome and asked that he be given a special contract to not pay his taxes so that he could grow God’s Kingdom...which was a kingdom not of this earth. Show me where Christ climbed in bed with any government...other than his Fathers. Show me where Christ had more faith in Rome, or the religious leaders of those days than his own Father!! Christ was the only begotten son of God and NO WHERE do I see where he strived to build the kingdoms or build what man claims to deserve for himself.
Christ had no where to lay his head.

NO ONE needs a 501c3 contract to have a church or to meet as believers. NO ONE needs it, it is not mandatory. Christ paid his taxes....read it...was even asked about it.

It is this contract that gives the government the right to tell a church what they can and can’t preach. For the sake of money truth will be silenced. For the sake of money...the most liberal and pro-abortion man in our history was elected by the greed of this country. A 501c3 puts more money in the pockets of the organization who has it. How much more money would you pocket if you did not pay taxes?

Are there less homeless? Are there less poor? NO....what we have is one huge rich mega church going up one right after another. ALWAYS the need to build a bigger and better building while the poor and widows do without!!!! Are the morals in this country better? NO!! This country has become corrupt and wicked and the Beast of government is growing at an alarming rate!!

WHAT was suppose to be the responsibilty of the church has been handed to the gov. in welfare, medicare, medicaid....ect. ect. ect.

BUT...the denominations walk softly as not to step on the toes of its bed partner (gov.) and does not preach what needs to be preached or take care of what needs to be taken care of.

AND quit trying to trap me...a whore is a whore...she has either sold herself or she hasn’t. She is either chaste and the true Bride of Christ or she is not. Protestant...Catholic...Islam...Jehovah Witness...Mormon...all denominations... it makes no difference!!!!!!!! She has either sold herself or she hasn’t...it is either a whore or it isn’t. It is either in bed with the Beast or it isn’t!!!

********
p.s. My intensity is passion. The writing is on the wall and no one will read it!!! or very few. Such is the condition of the hearts of men....all for the love of money.
The writing will get clearer as time passes...that which was revealed to Daniel that was sealed up till the end... is about to be revealed.

God has always sent warnings and man-kind has always sought to kill those who warned. Oh wait...now they are called conspiracy theories...roflol. We have NEW words....LOL.

To: Mrs. Don-o

Mrs. Don-o- I don’t find any indication in God’s word that suggests that we ‘attain salvation’ by any of our works- Your ocmment suggests that we are to abide by some ‘degree based salvation’ in other words, there seems to be some set of rules that we must follow, and a set of ‘sin degrees’ that we must avoid- yet the bible clearly makes the point that even the most benign of sins (a bad thought, or a ‘little white lie’ etc) are enough to seperate us from the love of God and bring eternal damnation- Being that we are in a constant state of sin- that we still have hte sin nature, woudl disqualify all of us from reaching Heaven based on a works based salvation. I must go back to my point about Christ doing away with hte old works based salvation system and conquering death once and forall for anyone who accepts his FREE gift.

Charles Stanley is one of hte best writers I think I’ve ever read, and he has a book out called “Eternal Security- and he just has a way of really getting into hte meat of complex biblical issues, and bringing it down to a level that is clear and easy to understand. Here’s a little blurb on his book:

No one who reads Eternal Security can doubt for a moment the writer’s deep conviction that salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone. For example, Stanley writes: “Look at that verse [John 3:18] and answer this question: According to Jesus, what must a person do to keep from being judged for sin? Must he stop doing something? Must he promise to stop doing something? Must he have never done something? The answer is so simple that many stumble all over it without ever seeing it. All Jesus requires is that the individual ‘believe in’ Him” (p. 67). It would be hard to put it more plainly than that!. . .

Among the most impressive sections in the book is the chapter entitled, “For Those Who Stop Believing” (chapter 8). Here Stanley clearly says some things which should have often been said before. For example, he writes: “The Bible clearly teaches that God’s love for His people is of such magnitude that even those who walk away from the faith have not the slightest chance of slipping from His hand” (p. 74).

This is beautifully put. Equally lucid is the striking paragraph: “Faith is simply the way we say yes to God’s free gift of eternal life. Faith and salvation are not one and the same anymore than a gift and the hand that receives it are the same. Salvation or justification or adoption- whatever you wish to call it-stands independently of faith. Consequently, God does not require a constant attitude of faith in order to be saved-only an act of faith” (p. 80). A little later, Stanley also writes: “You and I are not saved because we have an enduring faith. We are saved because at a moment in time we expressed faith in our enduring Lord” (p. 80)...

But just as this author is unmistakably clear in his doctrine of salvation, he is equally clear in another widely neglected area: the doctrine of rewards! Few (if any!) contemporary writers are more insistent on the role that this doctrine should play as a motivation for godly Christian living. This reviewer particularly enjoyed this crisp paragraph: “Does our behavior matter once we are assured of our salvation? You bet it does. Are there any eternal consequences when a believer sins? Absolutely. Will eternity be the same for those who follow Christ faithfully and those who live for themselves? Not a chance” (p. 118). Shortly afterwards he states: “Keep in mind we are not talking about heaven and hell. That is a different issue all together. Our works have nothing to do with where we spend eternity. But they have a lot to do with what we can expect once we get there” (p. 118). The GES reader is urged to study Dr. Stanley’s entire discussion of this subject in chapters 12-14. These chapters are an effective response to the tired old argument that if we are secure, we no longer have reasons for living a godly life...

This book’s message is crisp, clear, and uncompromisingly scriptural. It is precisely such a book as is urgently needed in our day and time...

I’d also encourage you to take a look at “Why Assurance is So Important - Robert N. Wilkin”

http://www.chafer.edu/journal/back_issues/v4n4-Niem.pdf

He spent 25 years looking into hte issue of salvation security because he, like me, questioned some difficult passages in God’s word that some people try to use as ‘examples of how we can lose salvation’ such as the following verse-

“If we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries (Hebrews 10:26–27).

and the church couldn’t tell the State what to think or do.

Only members of the Church can receive Communion.

The individuals, themselves, have chosen to dissociate themselves from the Church.
