dialysis going from cave to cave

Not knowing the severity of his kidney failure, I can only offer possabilities...Parataneal dialysis is possible for "mild" failure. He would change his fluid in his intestine cavity for lack of a better description 2 or 3 times a day. Home dialysis machines I dont know much about but they are used. A Full blown hemo-dialysis machine is the size of an apartment refrigerator and not that complicated to use. Sterile conditions are another matter.

Look for Obama to aggressively go after Osama to boost his re-election chances.

The American officers in Afghanistan until recently said they had enough people and equipment to do what they needed to do there.

We can’t go into Pakistan until the leadership there is a LOT more stable. They have an Islamic Fundamentalist movement that is chomping at the bit to take over the country. If the current government allows us to invade, that will trigger the Islamics to launch a coup. The LAST thing we need is to have an Islamic nation with nukes.

Coming from someone who’s never suspected Saddam — or any other Arab — of anything, that’s truly shocking.

Just because we had more troops in Iraq doesn’t mean there wasn’t/isn’t a signigicant effort in Afghanistan.

Also remember that Iraq was by and large fought by conventional forces doing what they do best. Even the urban combat is squad level with a good sprinkling of sniper trade.

Afghanistan from the start was SpecOps. First blood was actually drawn by the SAS in early OCT 2001. We put 100 "operators" in-country and within 100 days they'd killed 30,000 AQ and Taliban with the magnificent help of the USAF and USMC air assets made available.

I understand that one of the AWACS coordinators was a female who spoke pashtun. Before a strike, she'd get on the enemy freq and tell them that SHE was about to rain death and destruction on them for killing Americans. Then the Spector Gunships would go to work. The Taliban started calling her the "Angel of Death."

Then we almost lost the whole thing because the BOZOS in charge of the military conventional forces infrastructure jumped in and tried to steal the show. They forgot the painful lessons taught to the Soviets.

The Terrain in Afghanistan lends itself to special forces type operations, especially in forging close working relationships with resistance fighters. Afghanistan isn't tank country. Not by a long shot. Iraq certainly excels for tank warfare.

I remain convinced that if we'd simply let the special operations guys really off the chain, we'd have OBL and his cronies heads on a pike in short order. If you do the research you'll see that even though the ROE for them is remarkably brief and fluid, some of the most important missions are killed by the bosses for senseless political reasons. That is no way to get a wily old fox like OBL. Gotta "grow a pair" and let slip the Dogs of War.

[one has to wonder why Afghanistan and Pakistan was still not the main effort for the WoT...]

I don’t think any war has been prosecuted with 100% clear logic, so it may just be a screwup. My own feeling is that Iraq was used as a honeypot to attract AlQueda onto a killing field. So perhaps that explains some part of it.

“Osama became worm excrement - long ago.”

I never assume anything...especially when it comes to those who want to kill us. Your mileage may vary.

Geez, I can't imagine that unless they broke the lad. My oldest Agency friend was Viet Nam era, POW. Ice man. I wouldn't call him right wing, but he'd cap a commie with less hesitation than I'd swat a fly.

Obama is working in a Starbucks in St. Paul.

You are close. He is counting votes in the Coleman/Franken recount. A Franken victory is assured.

If the CIA was really effective, they’d have found a way to show us Obama’s birth certificate.

A strategy that often works to draw the enemy into the line of fire - it to give the enemy the impression it is safe to poke his head out into the open.

Don't tell anyone...

“It’s pretty sad when one can easily misread the name of the most wanted terrorist in the world to read the US President’s name. I thought for a second that something had happened to the prez-elect.”

Ditto that. It’d make it easier on our nerves if they’d refer to Obama using his middle name, “Hussein”.
