The Arizona senator tells Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" the Republican ticket faced a tough challenge from the start but disputed that a different vice presidential pick would have changed the outcome.

Finally, McCain speaks out.

Okay, warm up the “he doesn’t mean it” chorus.
And the “too little, too late” minstrels.

Too little, too late. The damage is done. The drive-by’s now have enough material to run with.

Yeah and it’s lukewarm diffusionspeak, the kind he used to lose the election. He’s a Senator, they don’t know how to speak to ordinary folks.

Sadly, you are probably right.
As far as I am concerned McCain’s words should be the last words on the subject. He said the right thing, meant it, and he should know.

"Lukewarm diffusionspeak".
Broke me up.....because it's such an apt description.
Decades ago, it was Senator Claghorn/Foghorn talk. Now it's the more subtle diffusionspeak. We must keep up with the times.
I love it....I'm still laughing.

I’m certainly not going to say those things but I will say that his silence, up to this point, has spoken volumes about his character

We don’t blame Palin, she was the energy.
We blame RINO’s, up to and including John McCain.
You can’t be a nice guy when someone is cutting your throat.
Hopefully, next time, people will back a real conservative instead of crying they can’t support him/her because no one else is.
