New Yor City, NY (LifeNews.com) -- A subway advertising campaign in New York City reaching out to men and women who suffer from abortions or experienced the pain of an abortion through a loved one is yielding results. The woman behind the campaign said thousands have responded with their own post-abortion grief and agony.
The campaign relies on the tag line "abortion changes you" and the ads have been seen by hundreds of thousands of New York subway riders during the past month.
To date, more than 1,400 New Yorkers have responded by visiting the Abortion Changes You web site.
In one ad, an Asian female shares: "I thought life would be the way it was before," while a tattooed male on another says: "I often wonder if there was something I could have done to help her."
Michaelene Fredenburg, author of Changed: Making Sense of Your Own or a Loved One's Abortion Experience, and the creator of the ads, shared some of the responses with LifeNews.com.
One woman wrote: "I would like to thank you for listening to my story. I thought and at times felt like I was the only one who was going through this."
Another wrote, "I'm 24, confused and alone... I felt like I was the only one suffering until I found this web site on the train."
Another woman carried her secret for two years and didn't seek help. She experienced depression and difficulty in school until she told friends about her abortion.
Family members shared experiences as well and one ad respondent shared the loss of two siblings because of abortion: "It hurt me deeply to know that I had a brother and/or sister who was taken from me... My mother spent many years grieving and healing."
Fredenburg told LifeNews.com in response to the stories, "I am glad that the ads have resonated with New Yorkers.
"Knowing that you are not alone and being able to talk about your experience is so important. Reaching out after my abortion was a turning point for me," she added.
New Yorkers also participated in other areas of the site and men and women are able to select from a range of emotions and indicate their feelings about the abortion.
The top feelings submitted in the last month were "ashamed", "angry", "alone", and "changed."

There are tens of millions of women who feel like this and they can become the strongest voices in the fight against the American holocaust.

Many abort because they believe it’s the only option they have. They need to know and love their inner child.
Thank you for posting this.
What’s your point? Accidents happen, even when people are careful.
it will help I am sure
I know a woman who was young and had an abortion and she now lives with that guilt every day and prays for forgiveness.
I know a rich woman who is pro abortion and told her about this and she said well she made a decision and you want to take that decision away
I said no I do not want young girls making the same mistake and having to live with it plus a baby should not be killed.
Now get this ,The rich woman cannot have kids or it is hard for her so she went to Vietnam to adopt.
amazing isn’t it that she can’t have kids so she adopts but believes in buying a child for herself.
The woman close to me told this rich woman that if this woman in Vietnam had the abortion which you support then you would not have that child now
the rich woman responded by saying it’s not the point
this woman is rich, Jewish and has a masters degree yet thinks obama is better for Israel and believes in killing babies
It just shows that one can have a degree but totally thick
I would love to adopt another child and there are many out there like me too.
we have 3 children already and my wife and I would love another but feel we are getting too old so adoption is right for us.
Many of these women need to know there are many options instead of killing

Your story illustrates the truth about why adoptions are on the rise and that is because there are people in China, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and other places who are getting very rich in the adoption business by making babies available to wealthy Americans. Americans go to these places because, for all intents and purposes, there are no babies to adopt in America (regardless of race or gender) because the “unwanted” babies have all been killed.
And are bound to happen when they are not.
>> Many of these women need to know there are many options
Indeed, they do.
The Catholic church has a program called “Project Rachael” which helps women and men overcome the horrors of abortion. It includes a weekend retreat and is quite a popular program.
I am familiar with Project Rachael, but I don’t think I know anyone who have attended any of the retreats.
I think another reason for parents to adopt from abroad is because it is much harder for the birth parents to change their mind about giving up the kid. If a family in the USA adopts within the USA, either birth parent can walk into any court in any state and contest the adoption. Even if the law is on the adoptive parents' side, upholding those rights can be very expensive for an adopting family. On the other hand, birth parents in a foreign country would have to find a way to come to the USA to mount a legal challenge.
Interesting. I did not know about this. Thank you for posting.
It would take a lot of courage for a woman to admit that she had an abortion. In our neighborhood, one woman admitted that she had an abortion when she got pregnant at 16. I’m guessing she’s around 50 now, so this would have been more or less 35 years ago. The neighborhood blew up, with a strongly Catholic woman breaking off their friendship after the admission and making all sorts of accusations that she was a “bad person.” Then another woman had a miscarriage and the Catholics in the neighborhood whispered that it was really an abortion and turned against her, so there was more hard feeling, more accusation, more alienation.
The lack of forgiveness of these suffering women here somewhat delayed my acceptance of the Catholic faith. In any case I can’t imagine anyone admitting such a thing if she is going to encounter this level of opprobium.
