News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

His response to the bailout was to use it for an excuse to postpone the VP debate by at least a week. Wonder why...

If John McCain does not come out publicly and refute these horrible rumors, and stand up for the Veep choice that got him many of his 50 million votes, than I am not sure he is even half a decent man.

Don't hold your breath. McCain is heading back to his clubby senate seat to resume "reaching across the aisle". He needs to distance himself from the partisanship of the campaign in order to be "effective" again. That means distancing himself from Palin.

The RNC will receive not one dime from me until they get some housecleaning done. This is just going to repeat itself over and over until those people are gone.

Sorry - my post wasn’t clear. I’m not saying that Rush and Beck believe the rumors - I was trying to say they are reporting the rumors, and that they believe McCain staff are responsible for these rumors.

“he went on SNL with her”

Uh, that wasn’t her. It was Tina Fey.

She doesn't like Ann either.

Nicolle Wallace Quote:

"The more that we see kind of the crazies like Ann Coulter out attacking John McCain, the better Republicans feel about their chances in the general election."

I know some Baptist and PCA members who wouldn’t vote for her because she is a woman.

Even after pleas to remember Esther and Deborah, they still said no.

“Maybe Davis and Schmidt can get a job on the 2012 Hussein Campaign.”

Sure. These Washington politicos are like prostitutes, except that prostitutes have a code of honor.

Steve Schmidt is another M4-Romney RomneyAttackBOT plunging a knife into
Gov. Palin and her children for the pooch- and GOP-screwing Mitt"I-am-Entitled-To-Rule-You"-Romney,
the venal shapeshifting backstabbing malignant fascist.

"Schmidt was importuned by several of the Republican aspirants for president earlier this year.
Mitt Romney sent him an antique chair to symbolize a seat at the table."

That’s exactly what many in my family did—they voted for the McWhatshisname/Palin ticket.

Palin was lipstick on McCain’s pig. Worked remarkably well in that regard, too.

Don’t blame Palin for the Republican candidate losing votes. We don’t know how many independents switched from the Republican candidate to the Democrat candidate between the two elections. Generally, when there’s an economic downturn, the party in power loses.

The source of this garbage is still unnamed.

DING, DING, DING. Who has the most to gain from this? The left who fear a 2012 Palin run. By spreading rumors that it's coming from the McCain camp, they get plenty of Republican in-fighting as well. Cameron said ANONYMOUS sources. He could have made it all up.

Now that the election is over we can all say what has been bugging us, that McCain was just a Dole repeat. Stupid choice and we are all scratching our heads on how McCain got the nomination in the first place.

I am under the impression that both candidates were going to take only public financing and that Obama suckered McCain by signing a pledge then not honoring it.

Well - that was a signal to McCain that he should shucked the pledge. Taking public financing is a trucial bargain. It is not some kind of good in itself. When Obama shucked it, McCain could have followed suit. I think McCain has this weird sense of honor that precludes him from doing the things necessary to win. Imagine if during the Vietnam War, the NVAF and the USAF had agreed to use only aircraft cannon during air-to-air combat. And the NVAF had used air-to-air missiles anyway. McCain would probably have insisted on continuing to use only aircraft cannon. I think he doesn't understand the fact that some things are only good in relation to other things - that not all things are good in and of themselves, and that the public financing pledge was part of the former.
