Fox Dishes The Dirt On Palin
Washington Independent ^ | 11/6/08 9:25 AM | Matthew DeLong

The effort within the McCain campaign’s upper ranks to pin Sen. John McCain’s loss of the presidential election on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is now in full swing, and Fox News’ Carl Cameron eagerly plays the gossip columnist.

On “Fox Report” last night with Shephard Smith, Cameron said he learned during the campaign that many within the McCain team were concerned that Palin “lacked the degree of knowledgeability” to be a heartbeat away from the presidency — but agreed not to report the details until the after the election.

I’m with Sarah. Anyone who trashes her in the aftermath of this election is not someone I want on our side.

totally agree

Sarah Palin brought spirit to the campaign but also showed a lack of stature that is required of a president (not saying that either Obama or Biden has it either). Why try to keep this novelty going. We need to find a conservative man/woman that has powerful creditials.

Here is a copy of the email I sent to Fox.

Sean,

I am done watching Fox News.

Today,Carl Cameron spread disgusting rumors regarding Sarah Palin. Did this really constitute news? What did this achieve? Mitt Romney x-staffers are jealous and they lost so they are looking for a scapegoat. I thought you guys were smarter than this behavior. You owe her an apology.

Take a step back Carl and ask yourself what did I just achieve by reporting this gossip? Defamation of character. Classless. Way to go Carl and Fox!

You guys helping to ruin a person’s reputation. Nice try. Fox News has reached an all time low. I have lost all respect. You guys have zero credibility.

It didn’t work and you lost a viewer.

Fox doesn’t seem to understand that their audience is not due to their non-existent reporting capability but because they weren’t so glaringly liberal as the alternatives.

Unwatchable.

So that should condemn her for the rest of her life ? The Katie Couric interview ?

Do you honestly believe that the woman is stupid ? You dont go from being a sports reporter to governor to VP candidate by being stupid !

You are just falling for the MSM tricks.

I think that since the beginning of the printing press, the press printed for the Whig Party or the Federalist PArty. Today, they print mostly for the demoratic party.

I think there was bias in our print from day one. I remember being a kid and hearing adults tell me not to believe everything I read in the paper. Well, as an adult, I know why.

I damn near threw something at the TV when I saw Carl Cameron gleefully spreading the unsourced rumors. What the hell — “fair and balanced?”

The new lithmus test in the Republican party is weither you support Palin or not. It is now her party. That is the way it is.

I wish people like you would jump off the bus.

Yes.

As has been pointed out by some this is the opening salvo in the battle for control of the Republican party. The “moderate” and liberal Republicans who nominated McCain and ran the campaign know enough about politics to know that they are in the crosshairs and, in order to deflect criticism and maintain their positions, have opened up on the one person on the ticket who had shown any real devotion to conservative principles and who many conservatives had adopted as a leader. If they are allowed to get their way the GOP will remain the minority party into the forseeable future.

“I really doubt that this coming from McCain himself.”

Then he should get out there and defend her from the rooftops. He’s a pathetic little pissant weasel to let this happen and not say a word. And I don’t mean a half-hearted lackluster statement; he needs to say it often, and mean it.

Yeah, my guess is that Biden’s desk will be right behind Michelle’s so he can take care of her schedule.

McCain picked her — he said — because she’s a “maverick.” She’s an unconventional, yet conservative maverick from Alaska. To suddenly expect her to be some mushy centrist, parroting McCain’s views was unrealistic. She deserved better treatment.

Only reason wife and I voted “for” McLame was because of Sarah. She’s the real deal, and everyone knows it. That’s what scares them. Sarah will be back, and we will be with her.

The sources are all “anonymous”. How do we know this is not some made up?

We learn that Palin didn’t know Africa was a continent from a second-hand unnamed source and it’s big news, yet we hear from Obama’s OWN MOUTH how he has yet to visit ALL 57 STATES and it’s no big deal. Go figure.

Palin didn’t take preparation for interviews well, and for example, didn’t know Africa was a continent.

Provide a link that proves that charge or withdraw it, please.
