EDITORIAL: What if Democrats win it all?
The Washington Times ^ | 10/31/2008 | Washington Times Staff

Posted on 10/31/2008 3:24:35 PM PDT by DoughtyOne

If Barack Obama is elected into office as the 44th president of the United States on Nov. 4 and voters, in tandem, give the Democrats 60 seats in the Senate and give them a solid majority in the House. What happens after Inauguration Day?

Single-party rule is inherently totalitarian whether the people consent to it or not. In most cases, one-party states rise out of authoritarian regimes, including former monarchies, or socialist revolutions. There are currently seven - China, Cuba, Eritrea, Laos, Vietnam, Syria, Korea. The United States would become the eighth.

Single-party rule is something to fear in and of itself - particularly from a spending standpoint, regardless of which party has absolute power. From 2003 to 2005, George W. Bush and the Republican Congress created the largest expansion of Medicare in history the prescription-drug bill and started two wars. They also succeeded in creating the largest tax cut in history.

Depends on how bad he ticks off the congressional Dems. My whole point is that if they control both the executive branch and the legislative branch, they will inevitably begin to feud among themselves. The Republicans did, and their hubris factor is lower than the Dems’, many of whom believe in their heart of hearts that they have paid their dues and THEY should be president, not this guy who came out of no where. He is not a collaborator and could very well push the congressional Dems to the point of no return. They would be standing in line for a chance to stick the knife in.

What if Democrats win it all? We borrow heavily from 'Atlas Shrugged'! All of us on the right must stop spending money. We've all seen the impact that can have on gas prices and some economists are blaming the lack of spending for the negative growth in GDP.

If we all stopped spending money we don't absolutely need to spend, we could bring the dims more economic trouble then they could ever imagine. No movies, no ballgames, no going out to eat...no spending!

Sometimes it takes being thrown under, or in this case “off”, the bus to clear one’s throat and begin to speak clearly, openly and honestly.

Just like Clinton was the best thing to happen to the GOP since Ronald Reagan; two years of Obama’s socialism & incompetence will awaken Americans to the conservative movement and cause the GOP to pick up seats in the House & Senate in 2010 and by 2012 we’ll be well on our way to burying the Socialist/Marxist/Liberals in America for good!

Now all we need are some true blue conservatives to replace the RINO’s & ‘Rats in D.C.!

This is an editorial from the Washington Times that I agree with. I have posted it here for forum enjoyment, and edification.

You are aware of my stand on this election. Don’t be misled by my post. That’s not my goal.

let me get this right. You believe a public that votes in Obama would suddenly see the light after 2 years? I wouldn’t count on it.

If the Dems take it all we set sail for France in a dinghy. I got room for one more if anyone wants to come.

We’ve got two shotguns and a revolver and figure that should be enough to cause that nation to surrender. Then we can use France as a base to stage our liberation of North America.

With the Dems in charge of the US no one will challenge our victory in France.

Remember we meet at dawn.

If the other side wins, we need to sit back and keep our powder dry. In two years, there will be another day. In four years we can evict.

These folks can’t help themselves. They’ll screw up.

The day after the election, we need to do some serious soul searching, no matter who wins.

We need to develop a policy that will bring us back from the brink. And I think both parties have led us up to it.

Starting at the grass roots, it’s time to rededicate ourselves to Conservatism, and do it in such a way as to attract allies throughout the nation.

I would only consider a nuclear (political) option of Obambi did go postal. I would make it completely non-confrontational. This guy wouldn’t hesitate to use the Waco option on anyone to get his way.

Atlas is Shrugging, big time, at this house!!! I’ve already started my new lifestyle — am making a game of it. If that fool “wins,” we will send a huge message that his policies won’t be tolerated. Not now, not ever.

I am John Galt!

I saw this video clip....scared the hell out of me. From Webster on the word fundamental - 1 : something fundamental ; especially : one of the minimum constituents without which a thing or a system would not be what it is

So what exactly is going to change, that our current "system" will no longer be because of that change?? Answer: FREEDOM

You've made a whole laundry list of assumptions that are totally wrong.

Let's deal in facts, shall we? I support McCain/Palin wholeheartedly and have already voted for them. 99.9% of friends and family are on the same page and have even worked for McCain/Palin. Save your sanctimonious, idiotic judgements, ok?

HISTORY LESSON - What I'm talking about ALREADY HAPPENED in ‘92 with Clinton and then the Dems imploded. Two years later the Pubbies swept both houses, huge gain (Contract With America). The Republicans then blew it through bad PR, mismanagement and hypocrisy. Any questions?

I knew Obambi was in trouble when the media showed a dip before Wednesday, that didn’t turn into a rally by then, swelling through the election.

This is it folks. Obambi is on the ropes.

Rush’s gut is in the groove.

McCain/Palin will win.

Well, it will be that way in my heart. Honestly, it has been that way in my heart a number of times over the last eight years too.
