EDITORIAL: What if Democrats win it all?
The Washington Times ^ | 10/31/2008 | Washington Times Staff

If Barack Obama is elected into office as the 44th president of the United States on Nov. 4 and voters, in tandem, give the Democrats 60 seats in the Senate and give them a solid majority in the House. What happens after Inauguration Day?

Single-party rule is inherently totalitarian whether the people consent to it or not. In most cases, one-party states rise out of authoritarian regimes, including former monarchies, or socialist revolutions. There are currently seven - China, Cuba, Eritrea, Laos, Vietnam, Syria, Korea. The United States would become the eighth.

Single-party rule is something to fear in and of itself - particularly from a spending standpoint, regardless of which party has absolute power. From 2003 to 2005, George W. Bush and the Republican Congress created the largest expansion of Medicare in history the prescription-drug bill and started two wars. They also succeeded in creating the largest tax cut in history.

The Washington Times has continued to impress for more than a decade.  It is one of the best newspapers in the United States based upon it's reporting and editorials.

I say this as a person who appreciates it's objectivity.  In the above editorial it didn't pull any punches when it mention the ballooning Medicare expansion under Bush.

Then it turned right around and explained what governance under Obama would be like.  And it didn't pull any punches there either.  The overall editorial explained
why one party rule is bad.  And it left no doubt that it thinks Obama may get it.  That is something voters should know before voting.

I'm going to purchase an electronic subscription to the Washington Times.  I appreciate their organization, and I want to send a message to the leftist print media,
that while their subscriptions dwindle, the subscriptions to papers with moral standards and objectivity don't.

If anyone thinks this is a good idea, they can click the following link to the Washington Times home page and take a look: http://www.washingtontimes.com/

No way will Dems get both Obozo and Congress 60. Still even if they did somehow pull out that miracle, then as Americans we’d all have to bite the bullet and make sure we keep our voices heard. I still feel good that John/Sarah will prevail and it will only end up at 58 Dems Senate.

It’s kind of a damned if you do or damned if you don’t choice there. If they announce too early, they can get buried and forgotten by subsequent editorial endorsements. Then, if you wait, fewer people may see it. At least this way it will be fresh in the minds of those who did see it.

And then there’s the issue of being kicked off Obambi’s campaign plane too.

If they win that much, there is no coming back. They are too crooked to allow it.

My Reagan Democrat Dad, who passed away 9 years ago, would always vote for the opposite party for whom he voted for President, kinda of like” to keep things in check”.....here’s hoping other Boma voters do the same thing

Well, for one, we are buying guns and for two, I am petitioning for dual citizenship with my mother’s country of birth, so we have an escape route.

I like the Washington Times - too bad they were one of the papers kicked off the Obama plane, lol.

There's a term in economics called “creative destruction” when a monopoly encounters entrepreneurs who do things a better way and the old monopoly is destroyed (rough translation). My point being, if Obama wins and and the entire government is controlled by the Dems, they will screw it up, be blamed, and then, eventually find themselves obsolete. Perhaps people will fall in love with the Constitution and what it stands for once again.

I’m not here to try to minimize the down side of an Obama administration. There would be serious down side. I still remain unconvinced he could prevent backlash in 2010, one that could see us retake the House and Senate as a block to his actions.

I think the public would get a real eye full during that two years. I think he would help us retake Congress in ways we couldn’t manage ourselves.

As I have said previously, if they are successful in “changing” America, a secession movement may be the only choice for those of us who love freedom.

Things will go to hell. The Dems will overplay their hand and begin attacking each other, and the economy will stagger along. In two years the Dems will have blown it, BO might very well be impeached if he tries seizing too much of other people’s wealth to spread around too quickly. There is going to be a definite pass the popcorn atmosphere, if they don’t fatally endanger our national security while they are “changing” things. And if they do, it might not take two years.

That’s the way I see it too, but it would be a very tough way for some folks to get an education. It would be simpler if they would just pay attention now.
