I have been an Independent for most of my life but this year I registered as a Republican.
A have a friend who I've known for 22 years. He is an Obama supporter.
He has ended our friendship because I am supporting McCain and not Obama.
He has gone so far as to say that I'm not the person he thought I was all these years. I am angry and sad and a little stunned.
Anyone else having similar experiences over the election?
Same here. A friend of 30+ years emailed me with a joke about McLame. I replied that it was unusual for her to make fun of anyones injuries, no matter Political affiliation. She replied saying since I wasnt supporting Obama I was a racist. I blocked her email.
She had NEVER before wanted to “go there” but now (post “get in their faces”) was chirpily eager to get into it.
When she said about Palin “did you know she was a WEATHER GIRL?” I knew that Mom had drunk the Kool-Aid. That showed how she had abandoned a lifetime of feminism, and simply wanted to make a (false) political attack, using demeaning sexist terminology to diminish Palin solely because of her gender.
Of course, like a good son, I held back the whole time, merely explaining what i liked about Palin, etc.
Nicely said, thanks.
Give him time—this is a hard one for kids.
lol -- I think you won when he didn't reply to, "You're to stupid to vote."
There’s no protocol, some people just really hate vanity posts.
I trust there is something there to miss, he sounds like a fool, no offense.
You could serve crow.
:o)
