True enough. But there’s distraction and then there’s full blown fallen for the ploy hook, line and sinker.

Just to clarify again. I do not hate MR. I do not hate anyone. There is only one thing I hate and that is egg custard (I don't care what you name it, I hate egg custard.)
I did not support MR because of his demonstrated and life long political positions - period.
My guy was Fred Thompson.
MR ran and was refuted because he demonstrated he was not the conservative he pretended to be, he has a long political career to draw this conclusion from.

"You people" refers to those Mitt haters that were unable to put their bigotry aside in order to unite to stop a much less conservative candidate from taking the nomination.

Out of all the MILLIONS that Mitt lost the primary by, it is the fault of a couple dozen of us on Free Republic????

Photobucket

Got news for ya, if Mitt tries again, we will be here then, same time, same station.

...it is hard for me to place the finger on Romney..

Just a bunch of garbage. More of the same.

You are entitled to your opinion even if based on faulty evidence. Romney received the highest percentage of primary votes from those who self-identified as "strong conservatives," FR polls notwithstanding. Freeper Plutarch posted graphics galore on this very topic. You can google it.

Additionally, his record is replete with examples of going against the liberal tide in Massachusetts and governing conservatively.

Was he a perfect conservative, no. There was no perfect conservative running, but he was the most perfect conservative capable of winning the nomination.

Now, before we are lumped together with those who've fallen for the MSM divide and conquer trap, I suggest we move along.

Sorry, but I don’t tolerate religious bigots.

You get it honest.

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/19#19
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

The American Spectator showed poor judgement in reporting "anti-Romney" rumors they got from CNN. in the last week of the race.

The original "source" is not connected to Romney at all but is a former Bush aide who worked for CBS and is a colleague of Katie Couric, Nicolle Wallace.

Why are you focusing on dividing the base (which includes many former Romney supporters) in the last moments of the election. You are carrying water for the MSM when it matters most just to bash Romney with false allegations. Akin to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Former Romney supporters will vote for McCain/Palin in higher numbers than even Evangelicals. Utah is the only state Clinton came in third.

The base is united behind Palin including former Romney supporters.

"The real Romney is clearly an extraordinarily ambitious man with no perceivable political principle whatsoever. He is the most intellectually dishonest human being in the history of politics," Barney Frank

When your position matches the MSM and Barney Frank's its time to do some serious soul searching.

Why dont you post the whole sentence?

"I did not blog on it at the time because I perceived
it to be people trying to finish off Romney.
It likewise seemed clear to me that if this
was going on, it was people loyal to Romney
who were still hoping for his come back and
not Romney himself.
"

Note that you took out that it was the past tense.
The author, like everyone else, has since learned about Romney-the-ShapeshiftingBACKSTABBER.

Hello!

No one is dividing the base.

We are splitting Mitt off from 2012!

Interesting that you went back to dig up a poll from long ago. 74.9% of FReepers supported Romney right before super tuesday. Sure it was after Fred and Duncan has dropped out, but a third place finish on FR is something to be proud of. IOW, he passed the most conservative litmus test there is on the web.

Which brings me back to a point I made in my previous post to another poster. Why are you trying to divide the base in the last week of the election? You are carrying the MSM's water for them. When your posts about Romney match Barney Frank's quotes about him it is time to do a gut check and some soul searching. May I suggest laying off your RDS until after the McCain/Palin victory next Tuesday
