If Obama wins, Romney could be 'repackaged' for 2012 GOP challenge

WASHINGTON—A week from today, Americans will pick a new president, but a surprising beneficiary may be off the ballot: Mitt Romney.

With polls in key states forecasting a comfortable victory by Sen. Barack Obama and fellow Democrats, Republicans may find themselves booted out of the White House, shoved further into the minority in Congress and marginalized in the powerhouse of Washington.

If Sen. John McCain loses next Tuesday, Romney could be well positioned to rise as a leader of the Republican Party to guide conservatives through a few years in the political wilderness and a favorite for the GOP presidential nomination come 2012.

Hey, Mittster, are you still awarding yourself false awards?

"Behind the empty gestures and deceptive rhetoric, Romney was not pro-life
or a defender of marriage by any stretch of the imagination.
He was a disaster," said O'Gorman, of the board for Massachusetts Citizens for Life.
He said Romney "deceptively" claims to have been awarded
a pro-life award from the group.

"The award Romney arranged for himself with the local Pioneer Valley Chapter
was the Mullins Award for Political Leadership, not a pro-life award
and not approved by MCFL's state board of directors," he said.
"We're blowing the whistle to warn voters…
"

Hey, Mitt, are you still throwing your own family under the bus for the things you covet?

"One would think no heir-to-George would pin blame on his eldest son
for the illegal immigrants working in the family garden. But Mitt did.
No loyal husband would gracelessly roll his own wife under the bus
("Her contributions are for her and not for me. Her positions are not
terrible [sic] relevant to my campaign.") to dodge accountability
for his own previous support for Planned Parenthood.
Mitt Romney is often his own worst enemy"

Hey, Mitt, are you still attacking radio amateurs?

Stop it.

Mitt's disgraceful abandonment of the party in its hour of need disqualifies him permanently.

I used to like him - he just wasn't my top choice.

Now? He's dead to me. Forget about him.

Wow, group of bigots. You mean like the ldsers that are bigoted to Christians or the bigots on DU?
I mean really if you don’t want people to post to you on an open site then you are going to have to stop responding to replies or stop posting altogether.

OK, you make a good point (worth considerin').

But as far as what I know of conversations, those are things that extend at least two ways...and in a thread like this, multiple ways.

If you're asayin' we're distracted, then you've got to include yourself & other Mittenites in that.

I don’t really care what YOU won’t tolerate. Who do you think you are?

The ONE, or something?

Sheesh, talk about a princess complex.

You and your group of bigots just don’t get it, do you?

I DON’T WANT TO HAVE A DIALOGUE WITH YOU EVER!

Get it?

Oh, they don't want to have any dialogue either. They only want to torment you. Give them the attention they deserve: none.

Intelligent FReepers and lurkers can see them for what they are.

One final word to you and your group.

AT LEAST I’M NOT A RELIGIOUS BIGOT.

And no, I’m not a princess.

Boy, this is a "good" one. The very original--and longest-lasting meaning of "bigotry" is "intolerance." So you've just told us all that you won't "tolerate intolerance"...which is itself intolerance...

...and frankly, we find that downright intolerable!!! :)

What does that mean people like you?

Is it your implication that MR was a conservative and we should have all fallen in lock step behind a pro-choice/abortion candidate who demonstrated his liberal side as governor? I am confused by you people.
