Illinois political insiders say Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who defended Barack Obama after his father famously threatened to castrate him, is the favorite to replace the Democratic nominee in the Senate. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) scolded his father, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, publicly after his comments were caught unexpectedly on tape before an interview with Fox News this summer.

According to Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed, Barack Obama, the so called first post racial presidential candidate, has indicated that he wants his US Senate vacancy filled by a black if he is elected president. Jesse Jackson, Jr., wants the US Senate seat and hopes to have his wife appointed to his current seat in the US House of Representatives. Governor Rod Blagojevich would have the power to fill the vacancies, but may or may not go along with the wishes of his former pal Barack Obama. Blagojevich and Obama were both tight with Tony Rezko and Blagojevich is in hot water with the Federal prosecutors right now.

I wonder if J.J Jr. ran all this by Bill Ayres and Rev. Wright and Father Flaeger?

We need to petition Chicago Bears legendary coach Mike Ditka to reconsider running for the senate if Obama wins (ugh)...Ditka had been giving it serious consideration the year that Obama won the seat (too bad he backed out then!) and we could use a pick up seat in IL to prevent the super majority!

To demonstrate his commitment to this Senate seat, I call on Rep. Jackson to resign his House seat right now to begin focusing on taking Obama’s Senate seat away from him. Should be quite the cat fight come Nov. 5th.

Ditka would have to take a pay cut.

Can you just imagine what the MSM would say if McCain came out and said he wanted to be sure a white replaced him in the Senate when he wins!

Sure ... why not? Illinois needs to keep the crook, crud and creep factor high in its politicians.

How wonderful... I expect them to do this. Could be worse. The other choice is Bobby Rush

I’d really, really, like to see State or National laws mandating that if you run for President, you have to resign your House/Senate/Governors seat.
Just as a matter of principle.

Why not. Illinois is an unflushed toilet anyway. Who would notice one more turd in the bowl?
