DALLAS (Reuters) - If Republican John McCain loses the November 4 election as most polls predict, his party may be in for a rough period of soul searching.
Analysts and some party activists say losing the White House will highlight the pitfalls of relying too heavily on a narrow foundation of conservative Christians whose support has nonetheless become crucial to Republican electoral success.
But some social conservatives say a victory for Democrat Barack Obama, whom they regard as an "ultra-liberal," will energize them for the 2010 congressional "mid-term" races and the 2012 White House battle.

Narrow foundation of Christian conservatives my a@@! If McCain and other Repubs hadn't ticked off this foundation and the fiscal conservatives so often, he'd be winning this in a landslide.

I’d rather take advice from Bin Ladin on how to execute the war on terrorism than take advice from Reuters on strategy for the Republican party.

Now is not the time for this question.
Let's go win this election and send the Marxists to Europe where they belong.

It may be time for that. It may be better to start fresh, leave all the phonies and dead weight with the Republican party...

I refuse to offer an opinion on a McCain lose as I've read where naysayers chance being punched out by PhiKapMom. :^)
In all sincerity though, I think McCain/Palin wins with a min. of 350 EC votes. (and I don't state that out of fear of PKM!)

We have two choices if we lose this election.
We either must reinvigorate the Republican Party and the Conservative Principles it one stood for.
Or perhaps the time has come to close the door on the Republican Party and start a new Conservative Party where the Principles of Conservatism espoused by Buckley, Goldwater, and Reagan can guide us.
Liberals, RINO’s and Moderate Centrists can please go somewhere else.

I trust in the process. If Nobama wins, people will soon be missing W so much that 2010 will be a mid term bloodbath for Bambians. By the time 2012 rolls around Libtards will be running for their lives.
