ELECTION DAY RIOTS?

Riots on Election Day?

Apparently that’s what big city police chiefs are worried about.

According to the news, big cities across the country are beefing up their ranks for Election Day and the day or two which follow it.

It seems these various law-enforcement professionals believe there is a possibility of rioting and neighborhoods being set on fire. They think it is possible that some people will respond with violence and mayhem to the outcome of the election.

Oddly, the chances of social disruption are about the same, win or lose.

The fear is that if Barack Obama loses, there might be rioting among black supporters in urban neighborhoods. The fear is that these disappointed supporters might feel that they or their candidate were robbed.

The outcome: Rioting and neighborhoods set on fire.

But that’s only half of it.

The chiefs apparently also fear that, even if Barack Obama wins there will be rioting among black supporters in urban neighborhoods. The fear is that these jubilant supporters might react the way they do when their team wins the NBA championship or something.

The outcome: Rioting and neighborhoods on fire.

The upshot: If you’re a cop in a big city, expect to be on duty or on standby on the evening of Election Day. And keep your riot gear handy, just in case.

This all is, of course, freaking insane.

At least from the standpoint of us McCain supporters.

Over on our side of the political spectrum, we don’t believe in rioting and burning down neighborhoods. Pretty much, win or lose, we’ll just watch the results on TV and go to bed.

We have jobs to go to in the morning.

The last riot we engaged in was the Boston Tea Party, and we don’t burn neighborhoods down, we build them up.

So we can’t really relate to pillaging as a manifestation of disappointment or glee. No matter what, we McCain supporters are not going to loot the WalMart.

We kind of thought that our whole system of elections was intended to keep riots – and worse – from happening. We thought that the peaceful transfer of power was one of the things our country does right.

On our side of the political spectrum, we don’t see how rolling over a cop car expresses anything other than criminal, anti-social behavior.

And so we’d like to put the police chiefs at ease. On behalf of all John McCain supporters, I’d just like to pledge that win, lose or draw, we will be good citizens and obey the law.

We will not riot, we will not set anything on fire, we will not throw stones or beer cans at the cops.

Not that this isn’t an important election. Not that we don’t think a great deal is at stake. Not that we don’t want to win this with everything in our beings.

But we’re good Americans.

And we act like it.

“The Declaration of Independence took a LOT of laws “off the books”.”

Again, agree, but since that document (my go to for what it means to be American, that and the Bill of Rights), the slide from a nation of law to a nation for laws seems to have been inexorable.

It may be necessary for that tree to be nourished again...

This is very well said! Stark contrast with the Obama supporters and their threats to riot if he is ahead in the polls and loses. There are two groups that will have blood on their hands when this happens — pollsters and the Obama MSM for their worshipping at Obama’s feet and not telling the truth.

During the primaries, the Obama media knew he was stealing the caucus’ with fraudulent votes but they stood by saying nothing. Now ACORN has been in full fraudulent voter registration mode and for the most part the Obama media stays silent.

Shame on those members who subscribe to Freedom of the Press but don’t have a clue what ethics and integrity are all about. They have forgotten the Preamble to the Society of Professoinal Journalist which they should be a member:

“Preamble

Members of the Society of Professional Journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues.

Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist’s credibility. Members of the Society share a dedication to ethical behavior and adopt this code to declare the Society’s principles and standards of practice.”

It may have been a "hint", but for me, the post-Katrina behavior of law enforcement officers was also a lesson.

Therefore, ANYONE who attempts to illegally enter my home and/or to confiscate weapons from my home, without a legal warrant based on probable cause that I have committed a felony (which I have NOT), WILL be met with significant armed resistance from ALL of its inhabitants.

That is why I strongly urge anyone and everyone who IS a law enforcement officer to REFUSE TO EXECUTE unconstitutional orders! If you do that one courageous, LEGAL act, I will be on YOUR side in whatever may occur in the future.

This isn’t the ONLY election in history that has had the nation at odds with one another. It will be the 1st to have riots as a result, no matter what the results. Put the blame on the MSM, MTV, The “Great Society”, and last but not least...Barack Hussein Obama. All of which are guilty of “victimizing” generations of blacks.

I posted a similar thread about riots on election day and the similarity to the Rodney King riots and for some reason the freeper who manages the threads pulled it. So, now that's it's actually being reported as news, it's OK to keep it?

Can we get them to start the riots early enough in the day that RAT dominated districts’ voting is severely disrupted?

“If he loses will he concede or claim fraud”.

...he will definitely claim fraud. This election could be a 2000 repeat. No winner until December.

Honestly, i think there will be pockets of this. However, my real fear is more sinister. I’m watching for an orange, or rose revolution type thing. Where they refuse to accept the loss,, have crowds of Obamabots block the shut down the capitol or something,, the media would be utterly in their corner,,, then imagine the EU, Mexico, the UN, Canada, etc,, starts recognizing Obama as the true winner,, then power sharing negotiation begins.

Obama appeals for calm (but not an end to the “protest”)and to “let the system work”,
Bush won’t have the stomach to disperse them or oppose them.

This will be the third loss perceived by them as theft. And Obama isnt Kerry or Gore,, Obama is a cult leader. They have no idea whatsoever they could lose.

The day will come that they try to seize power like in those color revolutions Soros was eyeballs deep in. Do not think it cant happen here. This would be in line with the nationalization of banks,,, Calls by the EU to end capitalism, etc,,, this is their big chance and i think they know it.

I would 100x prefer post-election riots than four years of post election 0bama.

There was some rioting after Lincoln was elected.

And that was followed shortly thereafter by the biggest “riot” that has ever occurred (so far) in our nation’s history.

And we have guns and plenty of ammo to protect ourselves from the rioting hordes.

You bet your @$$ OB1. I even purchased a nice little AR15 last week. Shoots like a dream. All zeroed and ready. 30 round clip inserted. My Glock and Ruger are both loaded. Several boxes of hollow points in reserve. They want to burn and loot here, they better wear body armor.

“There was some rioting after Lincoln was elected”.

...good point. And if history truly does repeat itself...who knows?
