Biden: Expect Obama's inexperience to be tested by our enemies.

I was under the impression that Biden's job was to reassure American voters to go with the exceptionally inexperienced natsec pick. Not to let them know that he was going to not only be tested right off the bat, but that he would probably flunk:

ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

See AoSHQ and Hot Air for more. The former is wincing at the idea of Joe Biden - a man who is always ready to tell you how smart he is, and if that doesn't alarm you, nothing will - being the backup for Obama in a hypothetical crisis like this; the latter is helpfully reminding us that Kennedy's own test of foreign was an "unmitigated disaster" that nearly ended up destroying Eurasia.

My own worries are slightly different. We can probably survive losing a diplomatic confrontation with Iran (unless they decide to do something stupid, like try to nuke Israel: then we won't have to lose it): and our response to an invasion of South Korea by North Korea will at least have the virtue of simplicity. But if China decides to force a confrontation over Taiwan... well, if Obama wins then I recommend that the Taiwanese that aren't ready to make nice with the PRC start acquiring passports ahead of time. Likewise, if the Pakistanis conclude that now is a good time to push India over Kashmir, sorry, guys: we had a change in administrations, and the new one isn't particularly interested in maintaining good relationships with the world's largest democracy. Then there's the dark horse of Venezuela: I suspect that Chavez would dearly love to push around Uncle Sam a bit, and the potential there for a blindsiding of a hypothetical Obama administration is just too great to ignore.

And note: all of this assumes that the test will be essentially diplomatic in tone. Instead of, say, an anthrax attack on San Diego, or a radiological bomb set off in Jacksonville, or even a series of coordinated ground-level terrorist attacks in ten or twelve suburban locations. I am even less confident in the Democrats' ability to produce an effective and measured response to renewed assaults on American citizens than I am in their ability to counter the diplomatic moves of regimes that don't care if we like them or not. Given that I have zero confidence for them in that, I sympathize if that admission alarms you. It alarms me, too.

I think that Biden was chosen because he is not one to “argue with his boss” and will not offer any resistance when “the one” starts dismantling the constitution and re-writing laws.

I also think that Biden is a bit unhinged. He says these things that are so bizarre. They go beyond gaffs. He knows exactly what he is saying at the time. I actually trust Obama more than Biden. Obama may be wrong and dangerous, but at least he isn’t crazy and dangereous.

Generally speaking, Democratic socialists never fight to defend. They attack to revolt and overwhelm. They typically and nearly continually convolute their operations with political justification, appealing to the public to honor and respect their good intentions, which they will act upon regardless of anybody else’s volition.

If they appeal for public acceptance and it isn’t given, they do not accept the vote as an alternate volition, but as an adversarial enemy.

Obama has already manifest a substantial amount of preliminary thinking into military ventures in and around Pakistan and Afghanistan in the first debate with McCain. IMHO, His comments not only were grossly inappropriate foreign policy-wise from a candidate and not the POTUS. They seemed to come out of nowhere, manifesting it was one of the things he had been briefed upon and emoted a position of leadership to create.

This recent set of remarks by Biden create a more threatening situation for foreign policy analysts. It indicates somebody and a group of military personnel may have been making military plans for some time, and are preparing to implement them. The logistical element would likely take a minimum of 6 months in such significant operation.

Telegraphing Obama is going to be faced with something significant within 6 months, indicates an OpOrder is already prepared, which they are considering and have decided to implement. Now they are simply beginning the public perception campaign to mobilize public support of their operations once he is in power.

There are likely branch plans to implement in the event he doesn’t win the election.

IMHO, even if they are clueless of their image, they are telegraphing to every potential adversary that they intend to strike the first year in office. This is likely, during what Kissinger described in our electoral process as a window of vulnerability, to give powerful incentive for every potential adversary of the US to immediately begin to plan and mobilize against US interests and to act pre-emptively as opportunity arises.

IMHO, Obama and Biden are stupid enough to not appreciate the risk they are placing on US security, but are also arrogant enough to not care if they place the rest of us at risk.

If Biden truly is digging dirt out from under Osama’s political platform, you are right. This would be huge. If Biden is just being Biden, it would basically be another day at the office.

Biden has been a supporter of the left for many years. He is damaged goods. We’ve all known that for a long time. The problem for the Democrats is that they are in denial. They have idiots within their ranks, most of them are, and so they appoint them to important positions. This is nothing new either. With the Demcrats, incompetence floats to the top.

The more sanity one has, the less important they are to the party. They won’t sign off on just anything.

Biden would sign off on anything. He would sit/stand there and smile as the good ship went down, deflated dinghy in hand.

“Ooooooops,” I think, summarizes Biden’s comments best. Of course a president Obama will be tested, not just by our enemies, but our allies as well. Consider for a moment that our enemies will most likely move to further destabilize Pakistan, trying to force the president to cross the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan and engage them there. Our allies will most likely move to strengthen their positions by attacking the dollar to weaken our economic standing. I’m certain Obama, if elected and presented with these so-called tests, will use a hatchet when a scalpel is necessary just to show he’s got what it takes. It will horrify the liberals for sure, but it will be detrimental to the country in the long run. This is another reason why McCain is better for the country.

Osama Obama, his Sec of State Colin Powell, his Sec of Defense Bill Ayers and his VP Joe Bin Biden will run up the white flag, ask for a meeting with the terrorists, whine, moan, groan, go to the UN, call Hamas, ask Jessie, call Calypso Louie Lou Eye, pray to the GD Rev Wright, and surrender immediately. With this pig as president our military will be under constant attack as he down sizes and does not support them.

Biden blows. Most enemies of the U.S. are already in the Obama camp. What, the media is going to revolt? Biden’s been spending too much time with Miss Cleo.

Enemies? What enemies?

Obambi will be a buddy to Hugo Chavez (Sean Penn will be AmbASSador to Venezuela).

Farrakhan and Rev. Wright are buddies of Qadhafy.

The Syrians, Palestinians, and Hezbos will be our friends, too: they openly endorsed Obambi.

The EU, Russia, and China will love us, with Obambi flying the White Flag from the White House.

As for AlQaeda, Iran, NK, etc., we will be "engaged in direct diplomacy", and Obambi will TALK them into being our friends.

After all, The One is a Transformational Candidate, he'll "transform" water into wine, lions into sheep, disease into universal health care, and war into peace. Hallelujah.

That last sentence bothers me. What are the “unpopular decisions” that will be made? What rights will be suspended? What freedom will we be required to “give up for the greater good”. What are the sacrifices, that the ONE has already stated, will have to be made?

This whole thing remind me of the movie “Wag the Dog”

Fake a crisis and remove our rights.

I'm with you on this one. Will shutting down dissenting voices be required? Will surrendering weapons be part of the 'sacrifices'. Why do I get the feeling we are being softened up for a quasi-legal coup d'etat.

This can finish Obama.

McCain Ad: When he thought the media wasn't around, Joe Biden told supporters that Obama would fail to respond to a foreign policy crisis, and to stand behind him when he fails. We understand how Sen. Biden is concerned about having the most inexperienced candidate in history become Commander-in-Chief. But America cannot afford to take that risk.

There’s also the possibility of Obama making “tough, unpopular decisions” that many Americans see as an unacceptable attack on their basic freedoms.

I suspect that you may be right, with the pretense being an attack on america, militarily, economically, or both. He said that even their supporters would say "woah" at what they end up doing, and suspect them of being "on the wrong side." That is seriously scary and goes way beyond simply pointing out how Obama invites attack. Would Obama be willing to submit to some level of sharia law in a deal for a cease fire with terrorists if we are attacked from the inside out with cells getting orders from Iran? Would he pull out all support of Israel and try to surrender on their behalf to hand them over to the wolves in exchange for a cease fire with the US? Would Obama introduce a one-world currency in the event of a global economic crash on a scale we have not yet seen? Could all of these things happen effectively at once?

Oh, thanks, Joe!

This is such a gift that I'm gobsmacked!

Just two minutes ago, my radio news played a clip of McCain in a campaign speech already expounding on Biden's brainless goof.

Good work, Speedy McCain!
