Conversations with an internal pollster for Obama...
RedState ^

Posted on 10/18/2008 8:50:02 AM PDT by PaRep

I have an interesting story to relay that took place earlier this week between my boss (a senior VP in the company I work for) and one of the Obama campaigns' internal pollsters.

Just to note, my boss is a republican and was meeting the Obama rep over lunch for other reasons. Politics obviously came up due to his line of work.

He asked my boss what her political leanings were and they did some chit chat around the issues and the impressions each had on the state of the race. What happened next was more than fascinating and should be a reminder to all of us to buck up and remain strong. All is not lost. In fact, we may be in a much better spot than we think - despite the national polls and what the daily media drumbeat to give up.

I'm seeing a surprising number of signs around here that read:

Another Democrat for MCCAIN

The time for ‘protest vote’ came and went during the primaries. Voting McCain this time paves the way for a Vice President Palin (and future President Palin) to renew conservatism as done during the Reagan revolution.

That starts with local elections by getting conservatives on the election boards and city councils, with state elections by getting conservative majorities in state legislatures and electing conservative governors, and nationally by maintaining conservative majorities in both houses of Congress and electing conservatives during the primaries for President so they can appoint conservative judges.

Now is not the time for allowing the JACKASS party to get a TRIFECTA and full control of all 3 branches of government.

The media switched colors on us in recent years. Red is the color of leftists. Most older maps will have blue for Republicans, as it should be.

After McCain wins we need to demand that ACORN is shut down under RICO. Was it Star Trek episode or another mivie where the guy says “we have to rip all the wiring out?”

This is what needs to be done to ACORN. If we have to raise moeny for a civil calss action RICO suit to shut them down or something.

Everybody - Volunteer & Donate. Make sure we are all at local McCain HQ helping out with GOTV the weekedn before the election.

There is absolutely no doubt to me that this race is, at best(for Obama), a tie, and that it will break for McCain in the end. There are certain people who will never vote for Obama. Not because of his race, but because he’s the most liberal person ever to run for POTUS. Clinton was a Southern governor who talked like a moderate, and even he couldn’t muster more than 42% of the vote againt Bush 41.

My mother-in-law, who was so excited about Palin, now worries that she's not smart enough to be President someday.

I'll add to my earlier post, unlike Biden, I bet Sarah knows j-o-b-s is a four-letter word. Does your m-i-l pay any attention to CSPAN, has she seen/heard some of the *genius* of the elected ones who roam the halls of Congress?

My son thinks she reflects poorly on McCain's judgement, and plans to vote for Obama on this one factor alone;

This thinking has me scratching my head all the time -- 0bama scores points because he chose a running mate who supposedly is ready to step into the shoes, should it become necessary, none of these folks can/will tell me just what 0bama himself has done to demonstrate that he is ready to actually WEAR those shoes immediately.

All this "heartbeat away" stuff and nonsense -- are those Americans who are truly using this as their measure when they decide doing so with their votes for House/Senate? Each one of those holders of office are in fact one terrorist bombing away from the presidency, each is in the line of succession, theoretically, regardless the long odds, yet I've never heard their intelligence, their readiness questioned. Sauce for the goose, after all.

Welcome to FR!

I had seen this a few days ago. Not sure whether I believe it 100 %, but it makes sense in the light of Obambi’s surrogates going so hard and fast against anyone that dares raise any doubts in people’s minds about His Lordship - they’re scared spitless!

A lot of Hillary Dems should hopefully realize that they go screwed by ACORN in the primaries. Let’s not forget that Obama campaign was stumbling at the end and Hillary could have beaten him if we really had 57 states or if FL and MI had been counted & she had not gotten robbed in the “Hawkeye caucai” and other caucases.

Obama wasting his time to run a rally in the USSR of Madison, WI? Hmm...maybe WI goes McCain. Internal polling for Obambi must be looking shaky.

I think lots of gun owners, hunters and sportsman in WI will be pretty scared of Obama and the NRA is hammering it home. NRA members could have arguably said Gore and Kerry were not a huge threat to the Second Amendment but Obama and his ACORN thugs and Islamists pals? I would put nothing past them.

Hillary Dems will be defecting especially union Dem rank and file. If Obama wins - his pals in ACORN/SEIU will start stuffing other unions with their cronies. The rank and file might lose their jobs. McCain is a safer bet.

A lot of people in WI probably see Obama’s template for America as Milwaukee, his home of Chicago aka murder town, and (sadly) the imploding state of MI and bankrupt state of CA. Western MI is a lovely place. A real tragedy in MI.

That is interesting. I believe McCain/Palin will carry Ohio without a doubt. Thanks for sharing.
