I have an interesting story to relay that took place earlier this week between my boss (a senior VP in the company I work for) and one of the Obama campaigns' internal pollsters.
Just to note, my boss is a republican and was meeting the Obama rep over lunch for other reasons. Politics obviously came up due to his line of work.
He asked my boss what her political leanings were and they did some chit chat around the issues and the impressions each had on the state of the race. What happened next was more than fascinating and should be a reminder to all of us to buck up and remain strong. All is not lost. In fact, we may be in a much better spot than we think - despite the national polls and what the daily media drumbeat to give up.

Here in PA the Pennsylvania State Education Association is internally polling its members by phone to find out who’s supporting who and trying to push people towards Obama if they aren’t inclined.
PSEA has sent out a mailing that’s even addressed to non-members stressing that Obama is patriotic (”patriotism runs in his blood”) because his mother’s father (grandfather) fought in World War II.
How come the people who are always going on about Sarah Palin’s “lack of experience” aren’t ever asked about BO’s even greater lack of experience?
We’ve all long suspected that we were being lied to by yellow journalism designed to make us give up. I’ve always been of the mind that polls are nice but there is only one, the one on election day that really counts. I don’t care if I’m dying of the flu on election day I WILL vote for McCain!
So true. I have been trying to find the post. What’s going on here??? Can you remember if it was a new member who posted the first one?
GOOD NEWS PING!!
Let see a snide elitist post.
Troll roll back to Obama smear central.
Let’s keep Michelle from having us pay for her lobster dinners for 4 years. She will be the diva supreme.
I’ve read this before and it was before “Joe” (BJ).
Whether real or fake, it reflects what I’ve been saying that Obama will never win. 2 Northeastern Liberals on the same ticket and the guy at the top is friends with America-Haters and Communists? Not gonna fly, we haven’t sunk that low yet.
Any government that is big enough to give to us
everything we want, is big enough to take from
us everything we have!

You know as well as I do. Look at the color of their skins. McCain fears being tarred with the "R" word, just like everyone else in the country. The media will kill him with it if he dares utter Wright's name.
There is a fever in the land. The country is preoccupied with race. That makes it ripe for the picking by race baiters and hustlers like Wright and Jackson and Farrakan and Obama. Get ready for eight (or more) years of it under an Obama dictatorship, ummm, "Presidency".
Because the obamabots will call us racists if we ask simple questions like that.
Only a couple of the radical looney left-wing extremists I work with dispise Palin for "lack of experience", yet when I inform them that she's the ONLY one with executive experience they get either walk away in a huff or change the subject to "McCain's too old". They know their not going to pull off enough Republicans to squeak a 43% victory like BJ Clinton pulled off.
Encouraging, yes but suspect.
Not to mention that Gov. Palin probably knows we have only fifty states and that one of them is not named "New Pennsylvania."
MSM propaganda...hummmmm...sounds like music to the dims ears.
God bless America!!!
McCain/Palin 2008!!!
Yes.
It could be an attempt to lull us into complacency. My warning that I try to put on all poll threads is below:
They skew these polls to keep their people enthused and persuade the portion of undecided, who want to be able to say they voted for a winner, to finally fall on Obummers side of the fence.
They also want to run off McCain voters who might decide ‘why bother’.
Thank you for this!! I’m sure it won’t get over 100 posts, because it’s a positive thread.
The polls are skewed because the randomness got contaminated when pollsters said they were adding in more African-Americans to “level the playing field.” Adding in an extra 6%. Does that mean we can take 6% off Obama’s numbers?
Polls have no predictive quality without randomness. And even if the selection might have been close to predictive, there’s no acounting for people who admit to lying to pollsters. Although Ann Coulter makes the statement that 86% of the people polled say they don’t lie to pollsters, does that mean there is 16% who do?
The only poll that counts in on election day, imo.
But then, you have popularity as some kind of a gauge too. Palin attracted a record audience for the vice presidential debate. Make no mistake about it, people did not watch that debate because they gave a hoot about what Biden had to say! Biden couldn’t draw flies during the primary fight, remember?
And tonight, Palin is on Saturday Night Live. I expect that she will draw a record audience for that show too.
McCain was on Letterman this last week. That show enjoyed a record high in Letterman’s 12-year history.
My point is, there is a ground swell of support and interest and genuine liking that will translate into votes for the McCain/Palin ticket that the MSM is playing games with and pretending is non-existent.
After this election is finished and McCain is in the White House, the MSM is going to fade away into nothingness because they have become a lying lot. And when the news media becomes a pack of liars, they fade into the nothingness of obscurity. Campbell Brown, hopefully, will lead the parade, along with Hannity’s sidekick, Colmes, or whatever his name is.
