Everyone is out to destroy Palin - but it's Obama's past we should examine
Daily Mail ^ | Oct. 12, 2008 | Melanie Phillips

Posted on 10/12/2008 2:47:30 PM PDT by AuntB

With all eyes glued to the collapse of global capitalism ... attention has been somewhat distracted from the race to lead what still remains the most powerful nation on earth.... We ignore it at our peril.

From the shockingly partisan presentation by the pro-Obama media on both sides of the Atlantic, you'd think this was a contest between twin pillars of rectitude and inspirational high seriousness on the Democratic side, and a joke Republican ticket consisting of an erratic old man and a brainless, wacko, gun-toting beauty queen, who in a fit of madness John McCain picked as his vice-presidential candidate.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, the beauty queen in question, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, has struck an enormous chord with Middle America. As a result, Barack Obama's media supporters are making a huge effort to destroy her..........

..... Obama is at the centre of a network of radical associations which he has tried to conceal......

Obama's own political career was actually launched in Ayers's Chicago house at a fundraising-event in 1995 which fired the starting gun for his run at the Illinois Senate......

Through the Woods Fund, Obama also funnelled millions of dollars to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Described by an academic sympathiser as 'a uniquely militant organisation', ACORN played a significant role in the sub-prime scandal - which detonated America's financial crisis ......

But Obama's connections with ACORN go even deeper. Even though his campaign has denied this, for several years running he trained its activists and in 1992 even ran one of its voter registration projects........

The reason Sarah Palin has struck such a chord is that Middle America sees her as the first candidate in its lifetime who stands against that destructive nihilism.....

You are absolutely right, God I’m getting sick of people finding something wrong with everything she does.

I was part of our Flag group’s (Navy) ceremonial unit (”Sideboys, man the rail”), Ship’s officers, sideboys, Chief Bos’un, ship’s band. Protocol folks, it’s all down in black and white, no one like Sarah Palin is GOING TO DO IT WRONG, dammit!

Just enjoy the photo for pete’s sake. An’ thanks downtownconservative...

Grab a copy of ‘Londonstan’ and have a treat....it's Melanie's great book that outlines the betrayal of the U.K. by our media and powers-that-be to Islam. A page turner!

Thanks for putting me on the list Aunt B - great thread to open up my reading this Monday morning!

I saw Phillips’ article on a Canadian website a few minutes ago - they had no comments to read - and was happy to see the writers and thinkers here had already put up wisdom to
absorb.

This is such a great article! It articulates many of my thoughts and feelings so succinctly.

There are a lot of great comments underneath the article now. This article has really struck a chord with people, it seems.

I did have to lol at one poster from Annapolis, Maryland, who said the author is wrong and Palin does not strike a chord with Middle America, and she is driving people to Obama. No offense to Maryland Freepers, but I don’t think think that guy has any clue about Middle America.

'Leftism is simply the demand for respect and deference made by people who have little or no credentials for running ANYTHING, but who are great at criticizing and second guessing. The affinity of reporters who do nothing but criticize for politicians whose claim to fame is simply their ability to criticize the businessmen, military personnel, and policemen upon whom we all depend to get necessary things done is quite natural; what else should we honestly expect?'

I agree and the article is all over the blogosphere today. Let's hope it makes it to the MSM....Yes, I'm still an optimist!

Exactly what I said! For all we know, the governor uses a pump to make bottles for Trig when they are out and about, and nurses him when they aren’t, like I do my twins.

That must be the latest ‘buzz explanation’ among liberals, because it’s the same thing I was told by the people I’ve been ‘discussing’ [read:they curse my conservative opinions and tell me to shut up] the election with!

Another new one I hadn’t heard attacks Todd Palin, saying he is fighting to have Alaska secede from the Union or somesuch! Anyone heard about that?

There are articles about it on FR. It’s a lot of BS. Todd registered with Alaskan Independence Party in 1995. One of their ideas was to secede. They simply wanted a vote. He hasn’t been a member for years. And NONE of them bombed anyone unlike Obama’s associates.

Yes, I'm still around, and thank God, so are you, dear friend.

BTTT !!!

"The 1957 Loyalty Parade in October was led by Mr. Haydu as the "Marshal" down Fifth Avenue, NY City. FBI insisted that he must wear bullet proof clothing. My husband an I helped him dress. Approximately 1/2 million people lined the parade. Shot was fired from the crowd at Mr. Haydu. - the bullet hit right above the knee - special clothing helped - and prevented serious injury. Someone threw a bottle with gasoline and hit him on the right hand and it did give him a nasty burn. He never stopped and keep leading the parade" - witness and Haydu's secretary, Ms. Ann Hegedus.

You own this, AuntB !!!
