This reader out-Andies Andy:

Well I have gone outside and pulled up my Mcain/Palin sign. This election is over. I will vote for Mcain but I know that come Nov. 5 Obama will be our president-elect.
I feel sorry for Sarah Palin. A once promising career will be permanently connected to the landside loss of John McCain.
I weep for my children and their families.
Steady on. This next month is going to be a long month. Lots of things will happen. But McCain has to make some of them happen. His charge that Obama doesn't know the difference between "strategy" and "tactics" could equally well be leveled at his own campaign.

I would rather have an “Alamo” stand

And I'd rather have Sam Houston than John McCain as our leader.

I agree that we should stand and fight to the bitter end, but it would be great if the guy we're working for wasn't such a dud. Talk about trying to nail Jello to the wall--that's what it's like to try to get a grasp of what exactly John McCain stands for.

You think she’ll let this knucklehead be the cause of her not getting the golden ring? And letting Palin become the most popular woman politician?

The Clintons feel that all power is theirs by divine right.

“dems buyer remorse”

There will American buyer remorse with liberals, dems, clintons, msm, acorn and particularly obama. obama and his dem majority will run this country so far into the ground hillary will be lucky to retain her senate seat.

Conservatives need to have real candidates ready to step up. I'm not just talking about general election candidates either. Conservatives need to clean house in the primaries as well.

Republicans will blow it again when they regain power if their ranks are still rife with deadbeats like Collins, Grahams, and yes, McCains.

Yeah, I read that on NRO.

Unless Mark knows the guy personally, that email reeks of astroturfing.

Even if the insurance covered the new paintjob or tires, there’d still be the inconvenience of dealing with it. I heard too many reports of vandalism around here four years ago to be willing to risk it. The stickers I do have are so outdated that I think it’s safe enough.

“...hillary will be lucky to retain her senate seat.”

Senators are reelected at a rate of over 90%

That’s good to know! Hopefully, we’ll start to see more around here. At least I can say that I have not seen much change in how many obama signs are up, yet I’m seeing the McCain signs going up.

My question was whether how far you are willing to take this strategy. You didn’t answer. If there wasn’t a “useful probablity” that McCain would kick the bucket, would you still vote for him?

Good for you!

DA (Debtor’s Anonymos) should be spoken of more in our society. Many people, either as individuals or by family pressure, feel a need to keep up with the Jones.

Keep going to meetings and learn to say NO to yourself and others who feel they need to buy something that is either beyond your means or you don’t need!

I will be voting for McCain because Obama is a joke and would be a serious threat to liberty and the traditions and institutions that this country was founded on. However, McCain’s milquetoast “bipartisan” centrism doesn’t inspire a whole lot. He offers little in the way of conservative leadership other than Iraq.

Sarah is the only reason people are excited about this guy, and she’s probably the only reason he has a legit shot, although after last night’s debate, that shot just got a bit longer.

What happens if a disqualifying bombshell hits the chosen one? Does Hillary step in?

McCain wasn't my first (Fred) or even second (Romney) choice but we're stuck with him. Sarah counters all his negatives and I don't know if this country can survive 4 years of Osama. I'm voting for McCain and every other republican on our ballot. They need our support also.

“senators are reelected at a rate of over 90%”

Under normal circumstances you are right. In 2012 after four years of obama and his potential super majorities in congress nothing will be normal.

With an Iranian bomb for three of the next four years I'll give even odds that NYC will even see 2012.
