This reader out-Andies Andy:

Well I have gone outside and pulled up my Mcain/Palin sign. This election is over. I will vote for Mcain but I know that come Nov. 5 Obama will be our president-elect.
I feel sorry for Sarah Palin. A once promising career will be permanently connected to the landside loss of John McCain.
I weep for my children and their families.
Steady on. This next month is going to be a long month. Lots of things will happen. But McCain has to make some of them happen. His charge that Obama doesn't know the difference between "strategy" and "tactics" could equally well be leveled at his own campaign.

I sense people are starting to wake up to the reality of Obama.

Really? The few adults I know that support him still cannot tell me one accomplishment zero has made. It’s unbelievable. If you pin them down they start talking about Bush.

The fact he is even a nominee and is ahead in the polls (not sure I believe that) tells me the end is near for our Republic. It appears half the country is willing to support a mystery candidate no matter how many red flags he carries.

7 years after 9/11 we have nominated Barack Hussein Obama who is endorsed by Louis Farrakhan and has visited Pakistan as a “student”?

I agree. The one factor people keep missing is that if BHO wins, Hillary is out for 8 years, minimum, and her presidential aspirations can be kissed goodbye. With 18 million Hillary nuts out there, this election is far from over, considering when they realize that their candidate, Hillary, will be dead if Barak wins. This is a huge factor and hasn’t been parlayed into the polls, which are predominantly MSM and will always give the DEMS an edge to try to sway the election. I heard the same whining in 2000 and 2004, and Bush won both. Don’t underestimate the Red states and the Hillary factor. Barak needs to be double digits ahead just to tie.

Yes, I realize that now. I read too quickly, and was just so surprised!

See my following comment. I recognized and acknowledged my error. More coffee definitely needed! ;^)

I read this letter. I can’t believe how weak and thin skinned people are.I bet a LIB wrote it so everyone will start saying “me too’.

Time to dig in and fight to the finish and if we lose,we’ll just start all over.

“this is no time to get wobbly”

Most reliably Red states won’t see many resources , as they are being directed to the battleground states .

I never had any doubt.
It's the reason I ignore polls and 'Rat propaganda.

The enemy has a hundred million$ of foreign muslim money to spend on the relentless beat of propaganda, and hopefully the only ears it falls on are the dope-smoking socialists-in-hiding and our everpresent welfare underclass...

I guarantee Palin doesn’t agree with half the shit McCain says, but has to grudgingly toe the line and defend him.

My "WTF Moment" came when McCain started talking about reducing the PRINCIPLE for mortgage holders who are having trouble making payments on their exotic mortgages. I mean talk about "rewarding irresponsibilty" at the expense of the rest of us!

Time to increase my holdings in precious metals and commodities..........specifically lead, food, medicines. If McCain wins it will be because and ONLY because of Sarah Palin, whom I’m voting for come November 5th.

Yep. Talk about accepting the left-wing Democrat premise on the whole bailout fiasco! Where’s the conservative leadership? What about those bold, bright colors that Reagan talked about? McCain is a milquetoast pastel.

Marc Steyn, as usual, hits the nail on the head.

It’s a double message.

First, as Churchill said, “Never give up.” It’s not over until it’s over.

Second, as many of us have said, McCain did a LOUSY job last night. He really let us down.

If we are going to pull up our socks and win this fight over the remaining three weeks—THEN McCAIN NEEDS TO START MAKING SOME SENSE!

The only good thing about last night is that Obama wasn’t very good either. He was vague and boring. But that ain’t enough. People need someone to vote FOR.

Ok star trek tell me what WILL work......your so smart telling me what WON’T WORK .........WHAT WILL WORK WITH THE TIME WE HAVE LEFT ? I fought hard to defeat McCain in the primaries. He’s not MY first second or third choice. But he’s 99 on the list of 100 where Obama is 101 !

Tell me what will work with the TWO choices we HAVE been dealt ! WE ....YOU and I don’t have time to dink around and find a third choice.

Put up or shut up .......or just roll over and let Obama win. Anything else as far as I can see as a VALID solution is to vote for Jaun McPain .

I'm just curious as to how far you are willing to take this "lesser of two evils" strategy before you finally say "enough."

So... are you proposing that people just give up now and accept the "greater of two evils"?

The lesser evil of Hitler or Stalin?
Not an apt analogy at all.

If the Repub ticket wins,
there is a useful probability that
Sarah Palin would become President
before the next election.

OK, kids. It's deep breath time.

Six days ago, we all thought the end was near. Thursday afternoon, everyone was chewing nails, praying that Palin didn't turn into jello on national TV.

She hit a base-clearing triple and jolted the campaign.

She went on the attack about Ayers and hit the reset button on the campaign.

She gave McCain the confidence to pound Obama in Albuquerque on Monday.

Let's not go wobbly over one debate.
