Yeah, he says Biden won it on points but that Palin will be seen as the winner by most people, which I think is pretty on target.
The correct response would have been that power of attorney grants all those protections through contract. No need to support civil unions, as the law provides that anyone may name anyone as a beneficiary etc. This whole issue is a red herring that needs to be debunked... not propagated. This is the type of liberal ass-kissing that makes me scream RINO!

I agree that may be true, and katie and charlie set this up well also. There is Justice.
Perhaps as a former liberal I tend to watch things with a somewhat different eye from those who have never been liberal. I try to judge how Palin would be seen by someone who wasn't already inclined to like her, and in all fairness I don't think such people would like her much more after watching the first half hour (I need to go up and watch the rest).
Back in 1993, when I was a liberal, Rush Limbaugh was on the Phil Donahue program and was asked a lot of left-leaning questions. The types of questions I would have asked. Much to my amazement, he actually answered them. I didn't agree with a lot of his answers, but I was seriously impressed by the fact that he explained the reasoning behind his answers to tough questions, rather than trying to dodge or change the subject.
In Palin's first interview with Charlie Gibson, I saw the same thing. She occasionally went off track, but for the most part she answered the questions she was asked. The Sarah Palin on stage tonight didn't seem to want to do that. At least for the first half hour, she seemed more interested in trying to get in all her talking points than in actually answering questions. While I understand her desire to make sure she can say what she needs to say, I would expect a lot of swing voters to be turned off by that approach.
