I’m not entirely sure what a “predatory lender is” but I am very sorry for your family’s troubles. There always have been, and always will be, unscrupulous people who take advantage of others. That is not a systemic problem, it is a fact of human nature.
In the case of the current financial “crisis,” the larger systemic problem has been related to expansions of the CRA, mark to market accounting rules, and Fannie/Freddie corrupt accounting practices, combined with the recent decline in the housing market that are at the core, not predatory lending.
As you say, many corrupt and predatory lenders have been charged - there are already laws in place to deal with them. By contrast, former Fannie CEOs like Jim Johnson and Frank Raines are raising hundreds of thousands for Obama and advising his campaign and living in luxury; corrupt democrats like Dodd and Frank remain in charge of key committees in Congress; and McCain is unwilling to talk about that.

Luntz said to watch the polls over the next few days, because this debate was a “game changer”, and said that her comment on the Wall Street crisis was a “9-11’ moment in the way that both conservatives and liberals’ responses spiked so favorably. He said he’d never seen anything like it.
