This is Denver's channel 4. So far Palin is down at 43%.

I know, I know, Gov. Palin could have been stronger on Fannie and Freddie and the Dems, but she wasn’t. Overall, though, I think she did pretty well, connected with the viewers, won the debate, and helped to erase the “laughing-stock” image.

This is Superfan Todd Swerski checking in with the final score in tonights debate.

But who would win in a debate of Sarah Palin versus the '85 Bears plus Devin Hester?

I though Sarah came across as somewhat liberal tonight:
Let’s see
-greedy oil companies
-greedy wall street and ceo’s
-more funding for schools and teachers(as we are not throwing enough away already)
-greedy credit card companies (regarding the bankruptcy question-the card holders are not a fault)
-greedy mortage lenders (what about the idiot/greedy borrowers)
-corporations are polluting the environment and she wants more cleanup/environmental issue.

Rush is going to have a field day tomorrow on this.

This is really very sad, and I cannot imagine myself ever getting over this had it happened to me, but what was the context? Why did he bring this up?

An appeal to emotion. He want's sympathy.

You prove by your emotions... you are excactly what you try to project upon me. All I did was verify your very own statement.

“I winced when Gwen was asking about the bailout and Biden went off on lack of republican regulation during the last 8 years, then when it was Sarah’s turn she said “Let’s talk about taxes”. That was bad. Why do they refuse to hit the rats on this crap?”

THEY CAN’T HIT THEM ON THIS ‘CRAP’. IF THEY DO, THEY WILL BE HAMMERED AS WE HAVE BEEN HAMMERING PELOSI FOR HER INCINDIARY WORDS RIGHT BEFORE THE VOTE. THEY ARE TRYING TO WORK A DEAL - A HORRIBLE DEAL THAT AMERICA HATES - BUT ONE THAT WE ALLEGEDLY NEED. THEY SHOULDN’T EVEN BE TALKING ABOUT IT OUTSIDE OF THE NEGOTIATIONS. THAT IS WHY THEY CAN’T HIT ON THAT ISSUE.

I listened via radio from 8:15 CDT to 8:45, and then by TV. She did as well as I expected, but she actually attacked less than I expected and was more congenial. I think she and McCain are really targeting independents and trying not to seem too partisa

Here’s the latest Drudge poll:

{{{{DRUDGE POLL}}}} WHO WON THE VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE?...

BIDEN

25% 25,856
PALIN

74% 77,553
NEITHER

2% 2,050

Total Votes: 105,459

Sarah was fantastic. She is the energy and star of this election much more than Obama. McCain needs to get her out their everyday in her element until election day.

If what you say is true, then most Americans are imbeciles that should never get close to a voting booth. Details matter, and the problem for too long has been the short attention span of our citizens, and there refusal to get into the fray. That is exactly the kind of attitude our lifers in Washington prefer. I would rather we be a nation of well-informed voters, than a collective of uncritical and politically shallow dimwits.

You know where she won this debate? At the very start when she shook Joe's hand and asked if she could call him Joe. He became smitten with her immediately and it completely derailed him. Oh he tried to get back on course, but each time he tried, Palin would give him a smile and then hammer him. And that put him back to being conflicted- Joe the ladies man, or Joe the Obama hack. Joe clearly was the smitten kitten. And I think it was to his own peril.

It was masterful.

I fully expect Rush to point this out tomorrow. Hey Rush, just this once, would you PLEASE acknowledge me since you always steal my stuff! :)

Not good enough..sorry folks..She needed to devastate him to get us back in the race.

This was not about whipping Biden; it was about proving she had the gravitas to be Vice President of the United States. Mission Accomplished.

I agree. We need to use the same yardstick people used for 0bama in the first debate: the topic was foreign affairs, and as the experience one McCain was expected to win. The question was whether 0bama was able to hold on his own. 0bama was able to do so.

Today, the roles were reversed. Palin showed a much better than 'holding her own', better than 0bama. With her charm, she managed to put herself as an outsider and as a regular mom.
