Prosecutors on Obama 'Truth Squad' sound retreat (New developments in Missouri)

No one involved 'has any intention of prosecuting anybody'

Missouri law officials, including public prosecutors, who were reportedly planning to "respond immediately" to any misleading advertisements against Barack Obama if they "might violate Missouri ethics laws," have now backed off the intimidating implications of that report, promising they have no intention of prosecuting anyone.

A spokeswoman for St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce . . . told WND that the televised "Truth Squad" announcement was misunderstood.

"The only action they would take would be to provide truthful information to the public so they can make up their minds," said Susan Ryan. "Neither (Joyce) nor anybody involved in this has any intention of prosecuting anybody."

When asked if the initial announcement suggested legal ramifications for "crossing ethics laws in Missouri," Ryan confirmed, "Unfortunately it did suggest that, but the 'Truth Squad' has no intention of prosecuting anyone for this."

When [Gov. Matt] Blunt was asked if he would take action against the attorneys, he said, "They have really stepped back from how they announced this. When they announced this I think it was intimidating. … In a lot of ways they have reversed course, and I'm glad to see that."

Complaint Resolution Program

An alternative method for the resolution of lawyer disciplinary complaints The public should expect lawyers to be competent, diligent, and prompt in their capacity as professionals. Lawyers who do not meet this expectation may be in violation of Missouri's rules of Professional Conduct, enforced under the authority of the Supreme Court of Missouri. The Rules set the legal profession's standards for ethical, professional behavior.

Clients or other lawyers who believe a lawyer has behaved unethically or unprofessionally should file a complaint with the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel of the Supreme Court of Missouri. That office will review the complaint, then determine whether it may be best resolved in a meeting with the parties and a third party neutral to assist them to resolve the complaint, or if more formal disciplinary proceedings are appropriate.

If I lived in Missouri I would gather my friends and family and be calling the State Attorney General about this and make sure the two prosecutors were made examples of. Their threats of folks violating “ethics laws” in using their free speech rights is on video tape. You can be sure if any prosecutors who were McCain supporters did this, the MSM would have been covering this in outrage 24/7!

The job is not yet done!

This is truly an Orwellian assertion.

They're doing that every minute of every day.

The rat bastards CAN BE BACKED DOWN ... it just takes the will and stones to do so.

Sun Tzu said that all war is based on deception back in the 4th century BC; a wise commander takes measures to let his opponent only react to the wrong circumstances. Diversionary attacks, feints, decoys; there are thousands of tricks that have successfully used, and still have a role in the future.

I wonder.............

They had no “intention” of prosecuting because they thought that just the threat to do so would be enough.

Sorry, libtards, the American people still haven’t been dumbed down enough.

Before you sit down for a friendly beer with this guy , you might want to watch the reply in the video posted by reaganwuzthbest on this thread. He states a) He is a democrat that supports Obama b) he saw nothing in the orginal report by the county lawyers that implied anybody was going to be arrested c) he did NOT say contrary to the WND report ,that he knew nothing about this (truth squad) d) the cover up report said he was a member of the truth squad.

I have lived in rural Virginia all of my life and I have never seen a local sheriff openly support a candidate of either party. I won’t say it has not been done , but I have never seen it. Sometimes when they run for office they don’t even say which party they belong to.

I tried to find out some information about this sheriff. He has a Viet-Nam medal flag and a POW flag on his website. Does anyone in Jefferson county Missouri know anything about him ? Stating that he is an Obama supporter is all I need to know.

I already knew he was an Obama supporter when I made that comment. I just found his response to the onslaught of phone calls/E-mails to be humorous.

“...Charge ‘em under RICO...”

G-man:
Who’s gonna charge them, Bush??? The Attorney General??? US Justice Department?? Not gonna happen. It MAY have happened if John Ashcroft was still there, but he was removed poste haste because he is a conservative. It MAY have happened if we had a President with some BALLS and a WILL to defend his own country from a domestic Fifth column enemy, an enemy that TOOK AN OATH to protect the country against.

Not gonna happen. And I’m through defending Dubya. All along I’d figured well, he’s a decent guy, etc., and that may be true - but we need a WARRIOR Patriot in there that will fight these b*stards every step of the way, and he (and the Republicans in general) are unwilling to do it.

Why? I don’t know...maybe because:

a. They think it’s still a gentlemen’s “game”(bad).
b. They don’t understand that this is WAR like the Dems do(more bad).
c. They’re IN on it (REALLY-REALLY MORE bad).

Maybe I’m just in miserable-pr*ck mode and feeling pessimistic today, but I’m beginning to believe that America is already gone. Please tell me I’m wrong...

There’s NO federal watchdog to monitor elections, other than monitoring for the shadow-phantom of “racist voter intimidation” and “minority disenfranchisement”...which means, basically, that the “Dead Democrat Voting Bloc”, the “Illegal Immigrant Democrat Si Se Pooooo-AAAYDD-o Voting Bloc”, the “Vote Early, Vote Often, Vote Democrat voting bloc”, and the “Wino/Junkie/Don’t Really Live Here Democrat Voting Bloc” are basically free to steal the election. Because OUR side lacks BALLS to openly and brazenly challenge them.

RICO indictment assumes we have ANYONE in law enforcement (Federal, State, etc) who would do it. In the words of Algore - “there’s No Controlling Legal Authority”.

THEY DON’T CARE.

They’re MUCH MORE concerned with how many firearms YOU own, if you’re praying in public school within earshot of children (but only if you’re Christian, that is), keeping the “No Child Left Unaborted” laws in place so our people can continue to be brainwashed into NOT reproducing, and stealing funding from public taxes and corporations to finance AIDS research to prevent a tiny segment of their voting constituency from offing themselves through perversity...

No, they’ll go on doing this Gestapo crap until whatever Patriots are left in this country decide to put a stop to it. And as it looks right now, that’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Saw the “Burning Down The House” video out here, and was livid...Hiredhand’s explanation of it was even more enlightening, and that set the fuse burning even worse.

NOTHING gets done to bring these Democommie slimebags to justice, because they OWN the system now. They’ll blame our side over and over, the media parrots it and pushes it, and WE....DO...NOTHING...

Feel like this is 1938 Czechoslavkia, watching Neville Chamberlain waving his papers while Hitler laughs his ass off and signals the Einsatzgruppen to move in...

Damn, I’m a grumpy old bastid today...

it was a nice thought, but alas i do believe that letter 'c' above is the norm rather than the exception...

better to be a prince than a common citizen I suppose...

You underestimate what's going on here. This was nothing more than a feint in a larger "war" of political maneuvers for ultimate control of the country.

Thrust and parry, thrust and parry. This is a portent of things to come if Obama is elected. If he is elected it will be that last truly free election America will have.

He has done his work well, there are no doubt many "truth squads" formed, remember, the Left always hits us on mulitple fronts. More to come. I suggest getting to know your respective state "systems" and people in DAs, CAs, and other community/county LEOs, especially the chiefs of police and county sheriffs. You must act quickly when something like this rises, go to the people in charge personally ask pertinent questions, write down what they say or a small recorder is good, DOCUMENT. Always carry a camera for events that might unfold in front of you. Simple things but effective things.

Be prepared for the long-haul, not the quick fix, ain't gonna happen.

Thanks for posting this video. I expect liberal lawyers to be involved in this sort of thing, but for a law enforcement officer to join,,is really scary. I was hoping that this issue would get more play than it has. To me it should be a major campaign issue for Republicans. I was also hoping the Rush would take it up, but I guess he will be to busy today bashing the Republicans in the SENATE about voting for the bailout givaway.

Who knows how many of these “squads” have been formed . Who knows what kind and how many ‘lists’ of people they have.

I received in the mail campaign information from “The Sportsman for Mark Warner”. Warner is a Democrat running for the Senate in Virginia. He is supposedly pro-gun. He had to vote that way when he was Governor Of Virginia because the Virginia Congress at that time was Republican. In the material there were statements form all these Republicans that were supporting Warner. One of them, a member of the NRA’s Hunting and Wildlife Conservation committee, is also a board member of The Virginia Department of game and Fisheries. I emailed her and asked how the sportsman for Warner got my name. She said the the lists of hunters and boat owners can be purchased by anyone.

I emailed the NRA and asked them why this woman is on one of their committee's. They have not responded yet. This Lady (mentioned above)said the NRA supports Warner, which to my amazement is true.

This really frightens me. That the NRA will let someone like this on one of their boards. Sorry I don't trust Democrats. They act conservative when they have to. When they get the chance they will show their true colors.
Its sad that here in Virginia and I guess elsewhere they have so many people fooled.
