Is it not obvious the reason the Dems won’t pass this thing without Republican support is that they KNOW it is a steaming pile of dog crap?

I love how the WSJ describes this as a fund for “housing projects”:

“A House staffer reached after the deal announcement was made confirmed that lawmakers did decide to drop the affordable housing fund proposals, which would have potentially directed billions to state and local governments to fund housing projects”

They just can’t bring themselves to mention ACORN.

I agree. WHERE IS MCCAIN. No money for Acorn, La Raza or any of these Marxist groups. And part of the bail out should be full investigation into the relationship between Fannie, Freddie, Lobbyists and the Congress!

Man, this is a tough call. I wish we’d have the guts to just ride out the storm and let the free market correct itself. But let’s be honest- if the deal falls apart and the DOW really does go down 3000 points then Congress will just convene and pass the darn thing anyway. And Republicans will get the blame and a huge amount of economic damage will have been done.

"How many times have Pelosi and Reid announced that this is a done deal? Where is McCain? "

This Bill is the responsibility of the House. They are the ones who have to produce it or reject it. McCain may be working in the background, but the House has appointed certain Republican members to engage in negotiations on this Bill.

McCain is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.
He has been working from his office because the Dems have said he is using it for politics.
At least he is devoting his time for this as opposed to Obama who is out there campaigning.

This bill is like putting lipstick on a pig and it smells like Obama wrapped up in an old newspaper.

Let it melt down.

It’s time to let the chips fall where they may and nail the guilty parties to to the wall.

McCain is gathering good material for a bazillion thirty second spots, to blast Missouri with, I hope.
