John McCain announced that he will suspend his presidential campaign on Thursday to return to Washington to help with bailout negotiations. He urged his opponent Barack Obama to do the same.
The Arizona senator also asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone Fridays scheduled debate with Obama so that he can work on the financial crisis bailout plan now on Capitol Hill.
America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen, McCain said.
“So you cant answer.... As expected. Rather Obambastic of you....”
Lol, can’t answer what precisely?
CLUELESSNESS You Can Believe In!
PHONING IT IN You Can Believe In!
I agree, people who actually see the truth all see Obama as a pompous ass and a typical demorat Chicago thug....
Actually, it was *my* idea first but I didn’t tell anyone else and I defy any of you to disprove that.....:)
.
Thanks potlatch
Only new data showing up on FR
Are the archives smoked?
Didn’t Obama cancel his appearance on SNL?
I wouldn't even give him credit as being a senator. He still hasn't produced a legit birth certificate that proves he's a U.S. citizen yet.
Letterman will look pretty foolish when Obama decides (as he soon will) to reverse his position and suspend his campaign.
I must admit I am starting to get impressed with the McCain campaign.

John said it was all backed up in a post I read??
But after the last changes, threads from way back that I had bookmarked were all gone. The urls were no longer good.
Let’s hope that people finally see Obama for who and what he really is. He cares nothing for this country, only the power he and the Rats could grab. And I hope that if people finally wake up and see the Rats for what they truly are that is has a ripple effect that sweeps the GOP back into power.
What's Obama gonna do if he's president during crisis moments if he can't handle SNL? CANCEL the presidency?
(psssst....Hey Dave...we know you're in the tank for Urkel - might as well admit it)
The others can go as scheduled.
Well said! McCain is not going to be afraid to debate the community organizer not this Friday not ever and why he wanted to have Town Halls so people could ask question. The person afraid is ZERO!
Wall Street is burning. Republican John McCain to Democrat Barack Obama, hey lets put down our fiddles and try to put out the fire. Obama, nyah, bad economic news always helps the Democrat.

From your lips to God’s ears, my FRiend.
Considering the way McCain’s spokesman laid into the New York Slimes, today, I’m pretty sure that the McCain campaign knows not to expect any honesty or non-partisanship from the MSM, so they just do what they think they need to do, and don’t worry about the media reaction. They made it clear that they know what they’ll get from the MSM.
I think Obama is concerned that he won’t have enough time to bone up for the second debate, which is scheduled for October 7. It is the townhall style debate.
“What Paulsen contemplates is really having the government be a rational buyer when the nonfunctional market is being irrational.”
I never worked in real estate, but always thought that revaluing assets at market held as much danger of misleading a financial statement user as valuing everything at cost. I think I’d prefer that things be valued at cost, then any material changes be reflected in footnotes. Of course, the requirement to mark to market might have started because of failures to disclose significant changes in values in footnotes.
Do you know how long the mark to market has been required, and is it an annual report requirement, or is it required more frequently?
Just my thought when I read that. Apparently he even knows it’s not to be taken for granted that he’ll be needed. They’ll “let him know”, LOL.
