Sound not synchronized on Palin Gibson interview?

Posted on 09/11/2008 3:35:40 PM PDT by KayEyeDoubleDee

Is it just my local cable tv company, or is the ABC sound not synchronized with the lip movements?

If this is national, it's really unforgivable.

" The Bush Doctrine question was to catch her. She handled that one right. She is not a Bush clone. That’s what they wanted. "

Not only that, they wanted to paint her with many stripes... if she said she agreed with it.. then, they would have accused her of wanting to have the option of preemptive strikes ( in which I agree also ) and paint her as a war monger.

I don’t disagree. But are you really concerned that we’ll wake up tomorrow have no access to oil? Or is the more likely present threat another 9/11?

I thought Sarah did very well despite the terrible editing which ABC should be ashamed of! There were many traps and Sarah avoided each one. Good for her!

You’re right Charlie did not come off very well at all. He looked exhausted.

Yeah, well, if you don’t have a big brain to go along with your “big brass ones,” that brass doesn’t do you much good, does it?

Again, you can't let internal strife encouraged by a foreign power go unchecked, or you might as well surrender.

“The female voters who may be voting for Sarah because she is a woman will see the interview as Charlie bullying her. He didn’t come across as Mr. Nice at all and most women can remember a point in their lives when they were talked down to like that. It will only make them root for her more.”

You know what? You hit on something there. I was actually upset, as a woman, to see Charlie peering over his glasses and fiddling with his pen. I was angry for Sarah, this woman is a Governor for crying out loud! He acted so damn haughty (forgive my profanity), but I honestly got Angry watching that interview. Maybe it is something lost on males, but women will pick up on that immediately. Even the feminazi’s and I hope to God they start to sway and realize how sexist this political race is.

In defense of poor Charlie, he really is like a third-stringer. He’s 65 and got the job he currently has only after one guy died and the next one almost did.

Or her answer should have been “ look.. I came into this office to cut government spending and we even had to sell the GOVs plane..... the money belongs to the people of my state, and the people feel that the best way to spend that money is for me to stay here at home and do my job for the people and not spend unwisely on a failed Europe trip that did not gain any benefits for the other guy.

My wife is a much bigger Palin supporter than I am. What "little head" is she using?

Grow up.

Palin has more experience than Barack Obama, and more experience than the first Republican President had when he took over the country in a very dark hour. George H. W. Bush had probably the most impressive resume of any President -- at least on paper, but he wasn't a great executive.

In my opinion, being either a lawyer or a beltway insider, as all the boys in this race are is a disqualification. McCain, Biden, and Obama have all shown terrible lapses -- and outright terrible judgment -- over the course of their careers. We're in a parallel universe if you think any of the other people on these tickets is more qualified than Palin.

If I were as sexist as you, I'd attribute your lack of judgment to being a female. "Unable to reason. Must be a girl thing." But as a man surrounded by intelligent women; mother, wife, sister and daughters, I don't. Please don't compound being wrong with frat-house generalizations.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. She doesn't have to know the whole world's machinations in order to walk into the Naval Conservatory on Day 1.

I completely agree. Glad to hear you don't think I'll be disappointed. I don't doubt she is the most capable and experienced of the four, in terms of doing the job.

I'd just hate to see a weak interview performance during the campaign play into the Democrat narrative that she's not ready to lead. She has to get elected before she can do the job.

Maybe the reason why Charles was wagging his foot or his head kept rocking, and looked un happy... he was uncomfortable from sitting from hemorrhoids.

I think she was a bit taken back by his delivery of his questions. On the next round she had his number. She’ll be fine.

Exactly. I guess that is what I thought one part of the “Bush Doctrine” entailed. Isn't this “doctrine” multi-layered?

The average Jane or Joe watching this probably doesn't know what it is. They are not going to turn to each other and say, “Oh my gosh! She doesn't know the ‘Bush Doctrine’!” I think she did fine in a very obviously hostile atmosphere.

Never let them see you sweat. And she didn't. She kept using his name, letting him know, “I am not afraid of you. I owe you nothing, but a fair interview. And you need to EARN my respect, Bucko. Go ahead, try to trip me up, schmuck.”

He came across as a condescending jerk. He just couldn't stop himself from practically rolling his eyes and his snide tone. I was waiting for him to let out a big sigh of disgust. Women will notice, believe me.

“I haven’t seen it yet. But would you say that he treated her like most car salesmen treat a woman when she tries to buy a car? Or the repair guy not listening to or believing her description of a mechanical problem? From what I hear that infuriates women and it has happened to most of them.”

That is exactly what it looked like.

She stumbled by not recognizing the definition of "The Bush Doctrine."

Don't tell anyone, but I can't define the "Bush Doctine" either. What is it?

You don’t know much about the media and political campaigns.
Less posting and more reading is recommended.

Just because you don’t understand what is going on right before your very own eyes doesn’t give you the right to insult the men on this site to deflect from that fact.

Cable....just really odd.

So the question becomes: Who was fiddling with the sound link between ABC national and the local cable providers?

There is no such thing as a “bush Doctrine”. President Bush once said that if you harbor terrorists or are a terrorist state we will launch offensive operations against you. That has never been true and never will be true. But he did scare the hell out of a lot of whackjobs.

I agree somewhat. I think the McCain team's only pre-condition for the interview was that they got to have their own camera taping the interview. That way if they do a hatchet job in the editing the McCain camp could pull out the unedited tape and show it.
