Sound not synchronized on Palin Gibson interview?
Posted on 09/11/2008 3:35:40 PM PDT by KayEyeDoubleDee
Is it just my local cable tv company, or is the ABC sound not synchronized with the lip movements?
If this is national, it's really unforgivable.

Fine here too, but I don’t think she is doing that well.

On my feed, they just switched to some weird mono sound which lags the lip movements even further.
Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just local?

If you are on DISH, then turn off- count to ten- turn on your receiver. That should help. Seriously. We get that issue from time to time with our HD receiver.

I’m looking at the first feed of ABC World News right now. I don’t see and hear any sync issues. You are getting this feed on cable? It might be an issue from the cable company, your local affiliate can’t really fix anything that they get from ABC with those kinds of issues.

"

They just switched the sound again to some other feed which is even more bizarre.
Is anyone else hearing this?

Our sound quality here is so bad that it sounds like those old herky-jerky internet feeds that we would get from Iraq, circa 2003, with Oliver North or Geraldo Riviera.
It's really bizarre.

Yeah, ABC typically feeds World News to the ABC affiliate body several times throughout the day. The first one to the East Coast comes down at 3:30 PT.

She's doing some double-talk - Gibson asked about the "Bush Doctrine" and she didn't seem quite sure what it was, she was asked about her national defense credentials, and she spun into an energy discussion. Gibson agreed that energy is important, but then said there is more to defense than just energy - she stuck with her energy bit.
I love her to death, but it seems a little scattered.

I don’t think it’s a stellar performance either. The editing is absolutely terrible. I wonder who’s kid they let edit the interview. She’s on the defensive big time. She seems nervous and Charlie keeps pushing her. He is going topic to topic and it seems like he’s playing a little gotcha.

Don’t disagree - I’m just saying she isn’t coming across that well. Certainly not after her RNC speech.

But that's the question - is it national - or is it just local? My best guess is that it's a local issue, possibly with the cable co. ABC's feed of the show is fine, no sync or audio issues of any consequence.

Charlie was very specific in his questioning.
I would like to see the same kind of questioning thrown at Obama. She did ok.

Fine here too, but I dont think she is doing that well. Not too bad either. She stumbled by not recognizing the definition of "The Bush Doctrine."
Not a home run by any means, but a solid double.
