Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:
Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
We're angling in the same direction, but I like your theory better than mine.
There is some evidence for the theory that Obama was groomed and shepherded by the deep, hard-core left throughout his young adulthood, then promoted along a trajectory which landed him within inches of the presidency.
And, let us not forget the emerging connections to the Saudi royal adviser we've been reading about lately.
He did not directly call her a pig. If there had been no previous reference to anyone about "lipstick," there would be no controversy. The audience would not has shrieked when obama said "lipstick." But they did. Watch the video. Were is just an old saying, there would be no reaction until he finished his whole comment.
You and some others are missing the double meaning here. As several on here have said, Palin 'owned' the word lipstick from when she used it at the convention. If I said to you, "lipstick, politics" Palin would have popped into your head. That's EXACTLY what obama did. He was talking politics and said. "lipstick." His audience immediately thought of Palin and reacted with squeals since they knew obama was about to rip Palin. He said it on purpose to elicit exactly the response he wanted.
Since he didn't say it outright, he can deny it, but most of us and obama all know he is lying.
He's just that kind of guy. Have you seen the videos of him giving Hillary the finger?

If not, you will understand afterward. He and the audience knew exactly what he was doing, but he could just say he was scratching his face. He's a bum.
Hold that thought. It's a good one, and along the lines of my theory and Jim Noble's excellent analysis.
You are correct to be creeped out about him: Ayers, Rezko, Acorn, Rev-rund Wright.
I think we're sorting out the Obama puzzle. He's a creation, in the model of the old Hollywood studio system. Leave it to libs to take their cue from Hollywood.
Nice try. They almost fooled America.
It ain't over till it's over.............
Roger that. Gotta stay sharp, and keep 'em on defense.
Speaking of that, I've been tickled beyond measure by the McCain campaign's ability to stay one step ahead of the Obama campaign, turning every one of their attacks against them.
Team Mac's recent improvement in performance has caused me to think that perhaps McCain has recalled his fighter pilot training, and is now putting the famous OODA Loop into practice. It would explain much of what we're seeing.
Obama was already weakened, by being abandoned by his father very young, and by his mother a bit later. Perhaps Obama is suffering from psychotic dissociation, which can result from suppressed incidents of great pain, and can have symptoms resembling what you describe.

Yet another piece to the Obama puzzle. In time, we'll probably see an entire thread devoted to exploring the hidden mysteries of Obama's life.
I smell a book coming.
THANK YOU!!! I just showed it to my wife and with a big grin she said: “YOU GO GIRL!!”
Thanks much!!
I saw that. I was amazed he could find the place, and have no clue how he got there. If he flew into Tri Cities, he was way to close for comfort.
He put Lebanon the map tho. Lipstick, Pig, Lebanon...... History
One of my FAVORITE Rodney Dangerfirld lines:
Rodney:
"You can fool some of the people some of the time, and just jerk the rest off!!
The lipstick ploy all makes sense now.
Yesterday, Bush gave a speech about 8000 troops leaving Iraq. Rather than sending any kind of good message to the troops for their good work or having to acknowledge he is wrong about Iraq, Obama came out immediately with a press conference that deployment to Afghanistan is more failed Bush tactics.
Then, McCain came out crystal clear and said Obama is totally ‘confused’ about Iraq.
Next thing you know...LIPSTICK-gate
Obama is today on the offensive attacking the media, attacking McCain and creating an enormous diversion - all so he doesn’t have to eat his words and show his utter lack of knowledge and judgment about Iraq !!!!
LOL! Close enough.
agree.
not that big a deal...
but hopefully big enough to help him seriesly loose hugh in november...
teeman
Ahh, he’s had his “Macaca Moment”. Was wondering why Andrea Mitchell was looking more constipated than usual today.
Whoa, dude!... I don't think that works for you.
He'll go to his street pickup basketball, no-rule, hard-elbowing, take no hostages, real self: Chicag-O.
You have to remember that there are two different points here: first, the insult was to Sarah Palin, whom we all know is woman enough to shrug this aside (she’s endured worse in the last couple of weeks), second, the insult revealed a candidate who either was too weak to overrule the use of the unfortunate phrase in his speech (meaning he is too weak to be President), too stupid to realize what meaning his words on a significant number of voters (meaning he is too stupid to be President), and/or too arrogant to admit that when he insulted Palin, he insulted all women and all Republicans, some of whom who are just not willing to let that insult slide when it comes from a “man” (I use the word guardedly) who has engaged in gaffe after gaffe and insult after insult in the last few days (meaning he is too weak, stupid, AND arrogant to be President).
Thank heavens for Sarah Palin (and for John McCain for choosing her), and may Sarah continue to be held up in our prayers for her continued strength as she faces unprecedented hostility from an old left that sees its best chance of power being frittered away by a candidate who simply isn’t ready for prime time.
