Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!
Since I’m a broken glass republican, I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain. Now I will hold my nose but I’ll be smiling!
Okay.
My first info was from a few comments recently by
Mark Davis, our local “talk show boy” here in the
Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area.
He is the one that I got the first hint that J.C.
Watts would likely support Obama.
The Google links were for my own info and for others
here. Looked at first blush that there was likely
something to it.
Thanks. :)
Yes, sir! Thank you. :)
Pretty much. Sad, isn't it?
Didn't McCain just say that he wanted to appoint Democrats?
Palin's okay, but McCain is still the presidential nominee. It's fairly evident that McCain will still be McCain, so no thanks, I'll pass on both major parties in the presidential election. Please pardon me if I'm suspicious and distrustful of the national GOP right now. Conservatives have been burned too much in the recent past by their amnesty and carbon cap-and-trade shenanigans, among other things.
This doesn't preclude me from voting for Gilmore for Senate or my local (R) Congress critter (who's actually fairly good).
no sweat

Sad, isn't it?
I have a new attitude after listening to team Obama and an awakening that we cannot let the Dems destroy this country. They will, you know.
Adding Palin to the ticket was a wise move.
McCain must and WILL be stopped again if he ever tries to push his comprehensive immigration reform plan thru.
He's on notice.

I won’t vote for a candidate for President who isn’t conservative. I’m not swayed by a v.p. choice when, on the whole, it means nothing. Besides, until we’ve heard how her positions on important issues differ from “I’ve crossed-the-isle and I’ll-appoint-democrat”’, McCain, I’ll assume she was chosen because she’s at least more lock step with McCain, than not.
He chose her because he knew he had a helluva problem with the right, especially the Christian Right. And he chose correctly. I’ll be supporting McCain-Palin knowing that she, and new young conservatives like her, represent the future of the conservative Republican party. Obama represents nothing but evil and must be, and will be, soundly defeated.
Agree. I have a familiar sick feeling conservatives are just being conned again.
Hear! Hear! I will Vote to that!
I feel the same way, but I realize McCain will trash much good in his years in office with his liberal views.
The upside is that we will have Sarah to help clean up the mess once he’s gone.
I’m voting for McCain/Palin, too.
Amen!
John McCain certainly has a lot of flaws, but if his choice of runningmate is any indication he will uphold conservative principles as president. Voting third party instead of supporting the only conservative ticket that can defeat the ultraliberal Obama/Biden ticket is not an option.
I've been anti-McCain since way before I joined FR last year. He is one of the two GOP candidates (the Huckster being the other) for whom I swore I'd never vote.
If he really recognizes that the MSM are the enemies of American survival and starts acting accordingly (which Dubya has always refused to do) I'll come around and not only vote for McCain but work for him. So far the jury is still out though......
I’m already on board. McCain/Palin ‘08!
