Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!
His pick of a conservative governor from an energy rich state changed that view.
While I still have reservations about McCain, I hope that Sarah Palin’s life-long adherence to ethical standards and Country First beliefs will keep the Maverick in line.
I feel much better about pulling the lever for McCain.
It’s sad to see you suckered by this publicity stunt.
Myself, I’ve decided to sit this one out. McCain is not a Conservative and does not deserve my vote.
Do I care that Obama might be elected? You bet. But I can’t stray from my Conservative principals so far as needed to pull the lever for McCain, especially after the last 8 years we’ve had of “Conservatism” from the White House.
Palin / Hunter 2012
It’s a beautiful day that God has made! :)
To much is at stake not to support McCain.
Even ordered a bumpersticker. Sheesh.
Agreed. There are many reasons to vote for this ticket.
1. The abysmal awfulness of Obama-Biden.
2. Sarah Palin herself is worth voting for. She will be groomed, exposed to the people, educated, and possibly given a major role in energy policy.
3. It’s always good to reward politicians who do something good and punish them when they do something bad. In this case, the Republicans have agreed to do something good after going through a period when they thought they could impose their own worst Country Clubber views on us and get elected by reaching to the left.
4. It’s hope for the future. We have a strong pro-life and conservative party plank. We have the opportunity to groom a possible conservative presidential candidate after a season when there were few or none in sight who were electable. There is hope for more conservative momentum going into the next election.
5. McCain himself has shifted, going from carbon caps and ethanol to drilling, pulling back on immigration amnesty, and generally acting more like a conservative. Maybe he doesn’t mean it, but at least he now seems to understand what he needs to do to get elected, which is more than you could have said last spring.
6. His campaign is much stronger, and more conservatively focused. Great ads.
The dangers of an Obama presidency can hardly be overstated. But now we finally have someone to vote for, and not just someone to vote against.
I'm stealing that line. Hope you don't mind.
To just stand by and let someone as dangerous as Obama get elected is the height of irresponsibility.
Wise words that echo many other's thoughts.
The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Hoo-yah!
YEAY, Mr. Robinson! But I think a lot of people also saw John Sidney McCain III in a new light, as well.
I’m one of them. I was humbled by his bio. I still dont agree with the man a lot of the time, and know that I’ll have periods of anger with him but I also know in my heart that he’s going to always do what he thinks is right, not whats popular.
President Palin is gonna have lots of Cabinet spots to fill in the coming years, so keep yourself available !

“There is no doubt in my mind that as long as McCain wins, Sarah Palin WILL be the first female POTUS. “
The possibility of living to see the first female President and a conservative and not named Hillary is what did it for me. Let Sarah pick a minority good conservative as a running mate next time and the republicans can do away with that hurdle as well. Do away with the race and gender problem and what will the left have to whine about? Oh, sure they’ll find something...guns maybe, well let them....we’re armed and they’re not!!! LOL
I have also changed my position on McCain. Sarah Palin was the final factor in my decision, but I had already been edging closer. In my view, John McCain has far too much family tradition of patriotism and military service to allow the USA to go down without a fight. Former POWs have stated that McCain was tough, honorable and brave during his time as a POW. I will yield to his judgement and pray to God that he is able to deal with the issues in a tough, honorable and patriotic way.
I watched the two hour Fox News special on McCain & Palin. It was beyond impressive, showing the pictures of McCain jumping from his burning plane on the carrier deck just prior to it exploding and killing many of his comrades. It sold me on the Republican ticket.
The current mayor of the city where Palin lived quoted Palin as saying in the goveror’s race.... “This is The United States of America, NOT The Divided States of America.” I thought that was an excellent slogan and feel they should use it with this campaign.
bump!
The beacons... The beacons are lit!!!!
Jim Rob: "And Rohan will answer!!!!!" Muster the conservatives!!!!!!
I now know I'm in Good company with my decision!
I am sure Mizz Sarah will help us keep John true to our Conservative principles... and He will need plenty of guidance.
