MSNBC TAKES INCENDIARY HOSTS FROM ANCHOR SEAT... DEVELOPING...
Drudge ^

Posted on 09/07/2008 6:33:59 PM PDT by flyfree

MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.

That experiment appears to be over.

After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.

The change — which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle — is a direct result of tensions associated with the channel’s perceived shift to the political left.

“The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into what’s supposed to be straight news programming,” said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

MSNBC Changing lineup due to "bias concerns" is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Some staff members said the tension led to the network’s decision to keep Mr. Olbermann in New York for the Republican convention....But some workers say there were other reasons — namely, that Mr. Olbermann was concerned about his safety in St. Paul, ...

BWaaaa Haaaaaaaa

I think Olbermann's Skeered.

He must not have any guns or religion to cling to.

When the Washington Post is criticizing your network for being extremely biased, there is a problem. Gregory is biased too, but he at least attempts to be onjective.

No kidding. They’re in an alternate universe over there. Up is down. Left is right. Stupid is clever.

“Gregory is strong lefty!”

I don’t care if news anchors are left-leaning Satan-worshipping communists engaging in homosexual orgies on a daily basis. I just want them to be unbiased when on the screen. If they can’t handle clean journalism, they should just go away and STFU.

....MSNBC drops Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews from anchor chair...

For several years I have wondered if their mothers dropped them on their heads.

This is so cool. Olberboy’s fan base on the far-left sites are throwing their poop through the bars.

I jumped for joy until I read the full article which insures Olberman remaining at the station until the next election in 2012. He should have been fired ages ago.

Olbermann is getting a contract extension with MSNBC, but he will self-destruct at some point.

If the network has any sense, they’ve put an escape clause in his contract that will allow them to drop Olbermann faster than you can say “Don Imus” when the time comes - but with minimal severance pay.
