Rocker Bon Jovi Hosts Obama Fundraiser (a prayer is the only thing he has)

Rocker Bon Jovi Hosts Obama Fundraiser Friday, September 5, 2008 11:03 PM Article Font Size Unlike his Republican opponent, Democrat Barack Obama is still raising money for his presidential campaign, and he turned Friday to rock legend Jon Bon Jovi for help. Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea, hosted more than 100 people for dinner on their mansion lawn by the Navesink River in Middletown, N.J. The price was $30,800 a person, to be divided between the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee. "When I look at Barack, I see an old man," Bon Jovi said in introducing his guest. Obama is 47, Bon Jovi is 46. Obama spoke for about eight minutes before greeting guests individually. He vowed to fight Republican attacks on his character and background more fiercely than John Kerry did in his losing campaign four years ago. "We're not going to be bullied, we're not going to be smeared, we're not going to be lied about," Obama said. "I don't believe in coming in second." Earlier in the evening, Obama attended a $2,300-per-person reception at the nearby home of veteran party fundraiser Phil Murphy. About 200 people, including the Bon Jovis and New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, attended. Republican nominee John McCain can raise no more campaign money because he accepted about $84 million in public funding and the restrictions that go with it. Obama turned down the public funding, figuring he can raise and spend more on his own. © 2008 Associated Press. All Rights Reserved. Back in the ‘60’s when John Lennon made a comment about the Beatles being greater than Jesus Christ.

There were bonfires in my local area burning their records.

I think its time for that to happen again and include the product of EVERY celebrity that supports this Marxist!

Rush was saying on Thursday that Obambi’s well is already running dry.

So, when was the last time McCain got a rock star to host a $30,000-per-seat event?

From watching Obamba, I surmise that what a “community organizer” does is raise money for quixotic causes.

Nice to see Barack hasn't forgotten his community organizer roots, hanging with The Little People.

$30,000-per-seat event
How does that fit in with the $2300 contribution limit?

NEVER. People praise this guy and his crappy music because he's still around. 80's hairband crap, was awful then, is worse now.

I never liked any of his commercialized top 40 garbage.

The best '80's "hairbands" were Motley Crue and W.A.S.P. Most of the rest were really crap.

I loved when the Texan W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless went after Tipper Gore and the Washington Wives.

Bon Jovi is a strange guy.

He inserts himself into places you would think he couldn’t get into and makes it seem like he’s still popular. Example, he was all over the Superbowl a few years ago and seemed to believe it was 1986.

OTOH Dead or alive is a great song.

If he supports Obama he’s a loon.

Now there's a class act for you. Does he forget which side is doing the smearing?

I have always thought that Marilyn Manson would be a lot happier if he got over the fact that he was NOT Blackie Lawless.

It is also said that Blackie has one of the best collections of baseball memorabilia in the country.

The price was $30,800 a person, to be divided between the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

But I thought Obama's funds were coming from five and ten dollar contributions.

And isn't it nice that campaign contribution limits are so simply evaded.

Good question.

Perhaps it’s because the participants are “purchasing” something, that being a dinner and hobnobbing with yet another “performer” whoring itself for Obambi.

For example, even after you’ve given the $2300 limit as a donation, you can purchase t-shirts, lawn signs, lapel buttons, bumper stickers, and, it seems, big-ticket dinners with famous names.

Bon, did you know Babies who survive abortions are left to die in the hospital because they have underdeveloped lungs and can’t get oxygen as well as you do?

.
When I look at Barack, I see abortion, unregulated, and ruthlessly cruel.
