Investigation into Palin Now on Fast Track
ABC ^ | September 5, 2008 | Len Tepper, DNC Hack

ABC News has exclusively learned that Alaska Senator Hollis French will announce today that he is moving up the release date of his investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired. The results of the investigation were originally scheduled for release Oct. 31 but will now come almost three weeks earlier, according to sources. The announcement is set for 9 a.m. AKDT time. The Alaska state senator running an investigation of Gov. Palin had accused the McCain campaign of using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31, four days before the November election. "It's likely to be damaging to the Governor's administration," said Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, appointed the project manager for a bi-partisan State Senate Legislative Counsel Committee investigation. Palin, who has denied any wrongdoing and has said she has nothing to hide, has hired private lawyers to represent her in the matter.

The univ of chicago opened its archives to researchers several weeks ago. I'd guess we've heard nothing since there's nothing worth mentioning in them.

Stanley Kurtz thinks there's plenty there. We haven't heard anything yet because he's just started and there's lots and lots to go through.

Does anybody know the remedies/appeals/penalties if there is found to be an ethical violation? I would suspect she could tie up the alleged findings in litigation appeal - stay of any penalties, etc. pending appeal that kind of thing. Once she becomes Vice-President all would be moot.

I just got an e-mail supposed to be from a woman named Anna Kilkenny, in Palin’s hometown. It trashed Palin pretty badly. First of many I am sure. I dumped it.

I believe I read that Susan Palin submitted a complaint on herself to a personnel board which handles ethics charges requesting it be expedited..

That being the case, the Alaskan senator wants to get his report out ahead of the personnel board's, IMO.

That's interesting that Hollis French thinks that there are stall tactics going on. That is in COMPLETE contradiction to his own quoted statements from BARACK OBAMA'S WEB SITE!!

See here and search the page for 'Hollis'.

Here is the quote from the page:

In August 2008, the Alaska Legislature hired Steve Branchflower to investigate Palin and her staff for possible abuse of power surrounding the dismissal.[58] Democratic State Senator Hollis French, who is overseeing the investigation, says that the Palin administration has been cooperating and that subpoenas are unnecessary.[59]

His bio says he was in the Marine Corps Reserve from 1977-1978...surprising

Actually it isn't surprising. It appears to be another example of Democrat Resume Enhancement.

Hollis French is making it appear he was a member in good standing of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. However, what he really did was go to Summer Camp, or PLC training - for six weeks. It apparently is an alternative to ROTC or OCS.

So Hollis French is making it appear to his easily mislead constituents that he was a member in good standing of the military. When, in reality, he dropped out.

He really should remove it from his homepage/resume.

It's good to see that they've finally blanked out the phone numbers and addresses!

If I hadn't seen them myself, I wouldn't have believed that the Anchorage Daily News had origanally posted these with phone numbers and address shown!

Does anyone know why a DEMOCRAT is heading this investigation? I just checked the lists of the Alaska House and Senate. Both have SOLID Republican majorities.

The earlier release is better for Palin...didn't need this coming out 5 days before the election.

Does anybody know since aides have decided not to testify and subpoenas will apparently be issued, does that help Sarah’s attorney get the matter delayed, i.e., can he fight the subpoenas? I mean, since it’s obvious this is a political witch hunt, if the matter is delayed until after the election, somehow I think it will mysteriously become insignificant.

Americans should reject this attempt by Hollis French and the Obama campaign to railroad the American people into letting Obama scam our nation into communism while French becomes the dems’ hero. This shouldn’t be about them. This election is about the good of our nation.

“When, in reality, he dropped out.”

Sounds like maybe a job for “Operation Stolen Valor.”

He needs to be CALLED OUT for lying about his resume, and being DISHONEST!!!

If he lies about his background, he will certainly lie about the results of little Spanish Inquisition.
