You obviously choose to ignore my question

You just didn't like my answer.

If I were in a safe republican district (you know the kind that has no democrat challengers) and my republican representative were pro-abortion, I would strongly consider switching parties and running against him as a pro-life democrat.

I believe that the districts which have no dem candidates and pro-choice GOP incumbents are extremely rare. Nearly all anti-life Republicans are in the northeast, midwest, and the west coast, and not many in those areas have no democrats running.

You didn’t give an answer. You dodged and weaved and did all you could to avoid a direct answer.

I want to party my middle aged conservative Republican tail off, on the night of the election, when we send the community organizer back for his 144th day in the Senate.

LOL! I recently got a laptop for one purpose only: I wanted to be online with my FRiends, watching various channels of election results on TV.

I had to move my desktop out to the living room in 2004, and that was a *long* night because I worked the polls and had to be up at like 4:30 election day. I bless caffeine. :)

Well, what’s wrong with successfully voting in as many “anti-amnesty for illegal immigrants” politicians as humanly possible, especially at the Congressional level? This issue alone should truly ignite everybody who truly doesn’t want to completely sell out the entire country to illegal immigrants and all of their continuing problems!

i believe the various anti-amnesty lobbying groups (VERY POWERFUL) are going to start asking her to stake out her position on illegals/amnesty very clearly, in the next few days. stay tuned. this is a MUST HAVE for me and many others.

Not sure I would have bragged about taking on union bosses seeing as how Palin’s hubby is a union guy and she mentioned that in her speech.

I don't recall any Democratic Pres or VP candidate who was a union member or had a spouse that was a union member. Good first for the Republicans.

Annoying, isn’t it? That sort of stuff is almost enough to make me want to support amnesty just to annoy the one-issue voters.

I just moved from Kansas to West Texas to be an education reporter for a decent size daily in a libertarian chain of newspapers. I have had to talk to many Hispanics in a region with a great number of them, and I have to say unlike Kansas, they actually speak English here. I haven’t met any yet who don’t speak English. I also haven’t met anybody who doesn’t work their butt off to support their families.

I have reported on some interesting issues with students living with relatives, raising a question of fraud, and seeing the people crowding the district office to fill out their affidavit forms myself.......most are Hispanics. It is intriguing to say the least.

But, for the most part, I have a hard time agreeing with the view immigration is going to end our country, even illegal immigration. The vast majority are not on some quest to reclaim territory for Mexico, they just want to support their families.

Should we try to stop it? Yes (it is illegal for a reason), but we can’t do everything, and compassion must be kept in mind as well.

I have a clever little tactic dancing around in my brain right now as we speak, as to how to precisely smoke them out on this illegal alien/border security issue, and it involves one Mr. Juan Hernandez. But I am not going "open mic" on this forum to screw up my idea, consider the open borders lurkers rampant on this site.

president reagan said it best: trust by verify.

PS was there any talk of Ramos and Compean by Palin yet? I would be interested in hearing her views on this. I would imagine she would be for their release, just assuming the kind of patriot and fair person she is.

For the family or families of one or more family members slain by an illegal alien on US soil, it can indeed be a “one issue” kind of thingy, yes.

We all pretty much know what's red on a "monqey"

Well do tell us. What is "red" on monqey

And please tell my why I "have to go"

Is it because I dare offer to an opinion that's slightly different than yours?

Must everyone on the board march lockstep with everything JennysCool and her cadre say?

If FR Administrator allow this, then FR will in the end consist of JennysCool sending messages to herself.

Somehow I doubt the FR Administrators will ceded control to you, Jenny.

"Considering his strong suit is not speeches, he did damn good."

I thought so too. Especially at the end. I have to admit he has surprised me on several occasions now. He's turning out to be much much better than I thought he would.

I was going to vote for him anyway, if for no other reason, than to support our troops. But now, and especially with Sarah Palin as his VP, I'm actually, looking forward to voting for him.

It will be great to see what he and VP Palin will do .

These are certainly two of the most interesting candidates we've ever had running for office.

Well, at least we know Michelle O wants Sarah Palin's chillun out of the spotlight:

~~~~~
When it comes to candidates' children, Michelle Obama says both presidential campaigns agree: leave the kids alone.
The wife of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, 47, says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show "one of the reasons why I'm proud of my husband" is his slience about GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's family issues.
"I know that they care about their kids, and we should let them deal with this issue," Michelle Obama, 44, a mother of two young daughters, says in the show scheduled to air Monday. "This shouldn't be an issue for political discussion."
~~~~

Wonder what kind of dance she did with Ellen out there in Coleefornia.

Let’s do it! My House Rep is John Carter of Texas, who commented that last year’s amnesty bill was “intolerable.”

I would think someone with a screen name like Shortstop would have the humility to refrain from laughing at others screen names.

Guess not...
