Annoying, isn’t it? That sort of stuff is almost enough to make me want to support amnesty just to annoy the one-issue voters.
I just moved from Kansas to West Texas to be an education reporter for a decent size daily in a libertarian chain of newspapers. I have had to talk to many Hispanics in a region with a great number of them, and I have to say unlike Kansas, they actually speak English here. I haven’t met any yet who don’t speak English. I also haven’t met anybody who doesn’t work their butt off to support their families.
I have reported on some interesting issues with students living with relatives, raising a question of fraud, and seeing the people crowding the district office to fill out their affidavit forms myself.......most are Hispanics. It is intriguing to say the least.
But, for the most part, I have a hard time agreeing with the view immigration is going to end our country, even illegal immigration. The vast majority are not on some quest to reclaim territory for Mexico, they just want to support their families.
Should we try to stop it? Yes (it is illegal for a reason), but we can’t do everything, and compassion must be kept in mind as well.
For the family or families of one or more family members slain by an illegal alien on US soil, it can indeed be a “one issue” kind of thingy, yes.
YEP i am rather surprised by the kind of “obsession” of some of the one-issue voters(immigration or another)...
Many of them pretend that there are nearly no difference between J. McCAIN and OBAMA WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY UNTRUE !
Then i am wondering,WHAT IS THEIR GOAL?
Making people(mostly conservatives) stay home on the election day?....It becomes rather clear.
All the little OUSSBAMA’s activists are very nervous these last days and trying everything for the Messiah
