Last Day Folks! Thanks for letting me do the threads.
Last night was GREAT! You can tell by the amount of slime that is being thrown us. Break out the poopcorn, it's going to be another late night!
Two sayings one I got that McCain was trying to sum up “We’ve only begun to fight”
and I have a feeling somewhere Obama is saying “We’ve awakened a sleeping giant”
You know, I have become an enthusiastic McCain supporter DESPITE comments from old-time McCainiacs like you.
If the Republican congresspeople and pundits and people like you had avoided publicly nitpicking every darn thing about President Bush, from his speaking ability to the farm bill and had DEFENDED him from democrat attacks instead of heading for the tall weeds after Katrina, he wouldn’t have such low approval ratings.
I am not going to nit-pick McCain’s speech, which was quite powerful at the end, because I realize that NO ONE who runs for office is perfect, and that Senator McCain, while I disagree with him on some issues, is the ONLY reasonable choice for president.
Iit’s a shame that more people don’t realize this, and unfortunately you do not. Do you not think you need the Bush Republicans in order to win? You do, you know, because they comprise a large number of the contributors and volunteers.
I appreciated Senator McCain thanking the President for his leadership after September 11 and keeping us safe from terrorist attacks, and for his praise of Laura Bush. You should take a page from Senator McCain’s book and knock off the Bush-bashing.
Here’s Rush?
Ha ha that’s right! Between the Olympics and the conventions that makes a month of big tv events. Now, sleeeeep...
Yep Rush is on!
Correct ... he cannot salute properly. His arms just don’t go.
we can start a fan club! ;^)
I’ve listened to the talking heads since the speech ended, and I’ve got to totally disagree with them. My thirty or so years in preaching says that McCain knocked this out of the park and into the river.
I think this was an awesome speech. I think it was the best speech of the entire convention...to include Rudy’s and Palin’s last night.
What struck me about it was the personal emotion and personal committment in it. Rudy used humor. Palin used wit. John McCain displayed raw, real, human emotion. His pace was good, his voice was good, his inflection was excellent. What he did, though, that the others didn’t do was show where his heart is really at. I believe the sincerity in that speech was the most real of anything I’ve heard since Ronald Reagan. I always felt I was dealing with a true believer with President Reagan, and I had no doubt again tonight.
John McCain is sold out for America.
I agree with your analysis, patriciaruth.
I know he was trying for the “narrative” of his transformation, but he didn’t pull it off well enough for that to overcome the misorganization of the speech.
RUSH is great to hear.
mnehrling, people like kabar are one-issue people who usually have very little else in their lives. We have to deal with lots of them here.
“He just threw away any hope of a decent convention bounce by rambling clueless about things that we already know without explaining what his vision is and how he intends to get there.”
Whoever said that didn’t stay for the finish!
Yo - Antoninus:
Who was it? Eskin?
Go Birds!
Come to think of it, I saw him on video
behind the scenes before an interview,
and his assistant was smoothing down his
hair.
I don’t think he can comb his own hair.
AMEN! I totally agree!
Those aren’t the only “choices.” On the big issues of immigration and manmade global warming, there is no difference between Obama and McCain. And those policies will destroy our country and our economy.
lady, I do not know what you’ve done for the troops as someone indicated earlier, but you’ve certainly been a downer on this thread.
The worst thing that could happen to the troops is an Obama presidency so take your back mood to bed with you.
i can’t believe that, they must have done enough begging last night
