I like this speech. It’s not a barnstorming bring down the house brilliant type like Palins but it is speaking directly to the conservative soul, he is spelling out what it is to be a conservative(even if we know his past), I don’t expect to fire up the fence sitters however, thats Palin’s job.

In Texas and the Southwest, we say VIVA and other Spanglish words all the time - it’s not big thing. It’s Tex-Mex here, not a “foreign language”. You couldn’t say the name of half the place names in Texas unless you speak Tex-Mex. (Palo Duro, Palo Pinto, Mexia, Zavala, Rio Grande, Frio River, Brazos River, Blanco River... need I go on?)

It’s a Southwest thang.
