BARACK, MEET YOUR NIGHTMARE
NEW YORK POST ^ | September 4, 2008 | rich lowry

Posted on 09/04/2008 7:59:33 AM PDT by george76

Last night, the question about Sarah Palin wasn't if she's risen too fast, but where she's been for so long.

She may have given the best speech of either political convention. She delivered a brilliantly written text flawlessly. Politicians who've been on the national stage for decades could do no better, and usually do worse.

Newsrooms across America must be in abject despair. The unlikely VP nominee the media hoped to crush out of the gate is unaffected by their condescension and scorn - and is bent on giving better than she takes.

Miss Congeniality isn't afraid to administer an old-fashioned beat-down. Annie Oakley brought a gun to a knife fight and made like the Obama-Biden ticket was a moose lazily meandering into her gun sights.

she said the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom is "lipstick." It wasn't just a cute line. She immediately began to prove it, starting with her killer line that being mayor of a small town is just like being a community organizer - except you have actual responsibilities.

She was merciless on Obama's elitism, scoring him for saying one thing about working-class voters in Scranton and another in San Francisco. By the end, you began to feel sorry for him for having been so thoroughly eviscerated by a woman and to wonder - how are Obama and Biden possibly going to handle her?

Palin was obviously comfortable laying body checks on Obama. In fact, she seemed to enjoy it.

Throughout, she never lost that ineffable quality that is literally priceless - her likability.

Then I will explain it for you. I am a conservative. McCain is a liberal. An open borders liberal, as a matter of fact...(followed by chess pics)

I don't understand this strategy. If McCain is not elected, Obama will be. He is an open borders liberal and an adherent of alot of other liberal/socialist policies.

By not choosing a McCain (over an Obama) we may not survive the middlegame (US vs. Russia or US vs. Iran confrontations in the next few years) to get to a desirable endgame (some conservative [Republican?] in 2012 or 2016).

To win the endgame one must have either a material advantage or positional advantages which can be converted into material advantage (queening a pawn) or mate. With Obama in the Whitehouse for 8 years, long term weakenesses are unavoidable (supreme court appointments, higher taxes, increased dependency on foreign oil) and continued exodus of American industry resulting in increased trade deficits, monetizing the debt and continued lowing of american living standards.

We need to return the congress to conservative control. We can then more effectively suffer bad executive policy, whoever might be elected, an Obama or RHINO. However, an Obama with a democrat control congress along with 2 or 3 supreme court picks will be truly disasterous for a free and independent United States of America.

Last nights speech by Palin encouraged me that there may indeed be life left in the conservatives, enough to elect McCain and produce some coat tails that could result in some conservate gains in both houses. A lot of ifs, but a middlegame course that promisses winning chances.

Can someone explain to me how these moonbats get in the place? They can’t be delegates, who is watching the door

Some disgruntled Ron Paul supporter gave them the tickets.

But the Secret Service needs to do an internal investigation to figure out how these two kooks were able to get so close to the stage - if they had been Muslims [or Alex Jones types], then Sarah might be dead.

And when they figure out who was responsible, some Secret Service agents need to be severely disciplined over this.

Well, inside or not, still remarkable.

I see large banners with that printed on them, and exploding lefty heads everywhere. Anyway, I’m keeping it for future reference.

Fox News showed none of it.>>>

They showed them escorting a Code Pinko out numerous times throughout the night as they went through highlights of the speech, they just didnt make it a specific news story itself.

She brought a gun & a knife to a gun fight.

But she didn’t need the gun. The stiletto and the smile were all she needed.

“What a joy it is to see McCain pull a Big Bad Bunny Rabbit out of his hat to beat up on the Li’l Goo-Goo Woof!”

I must say, that is one of the most interesting and unique comments I have ever read here.

That "bunny rabbit" McCain pulled from his hat was like the rabbit from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"... /grin

LOL!
Be my guest! If you feel it is worthy, you can just use it wherever you want!
I have to say, when I recalled it, I then had a brief vision of “Wererabbit,” though I never saw the movie.
The Big Bad Bunny Rabbit was pretty scary, as I recall. But then, as I also recall, our mother changed the ending several times.

Well, Badeye, I haven’t forgotten any of McCain’s record, and I expect President McCain will not be a champion of conservatism. And Sarah Palin has yet to prove herself as capable a veep as Dick Cheney, though HER conservatism I don’t doubt. I worry that McCain, after she helps him win bigger than he would have without her, might put her on ice and just use her for ceremonial purposes, rather than giving her a significant role in his administration.
But worrying comes natural to me.
Palin’s speech was VERY reassuring.
So now I will vote for McCain whether or not he needs my vote, even if the polls have him far ahead. I even sent him a 4-figure donation, which I never imagined I could feel impelled to do.

She is amazing.

Words fail to describe her.

The dems should be scared.

A caller to Rush today described her perfectly.

Thanks for all the responses to my initial post. Its good to know the primary battles are past us, and we’re united now in the goal of keeping Obama and that blowhard Biden out of the Whitehouse, except by invitation by McCain and Palin after next January.

Like American National Security, the Supreme Court and our prosperity????

Good luck with that.
