I only noticed because I added a comment on the other no more than 10 min ago. I definitely am not trying to be the thread police.

The left doesn’t misunderstand the Culture War, they just don’t believe in sexual inhibition, and will use every opportunity to say so. Conservatives know that every time someone violates moral laws, it is an opportunity to say, “Look, we have rules for a reason.” That people violate rules is not proof that rules are useless. Once no one violates a rule, THAT is when a rule is useless.

Anyway, at bottom, the Culture war is about utilitarian principles. If promiscuity is harmful, as conservatives say, then it is bad. If it is benign, then liberals are onto something. The debate will never turn on which side has the most hypocrites.

This whole tempest in a teapot is being driven by the despicable MSM and the outrage they have unleashed in average, normal American MEN & women.

Correct me if I am wrong - but John Edwards (the mature adult male who is the adulterous, presumptive father of an out-of-wedlock child) was the VP nominee of the Democratic Party in 2000 - Isn’t Sarah Palin the current VP nominee of the GOP -with a 17 year-old daughter Bristol - surely Bristol is not running for national elective office? Surely Bristol is not carrying John Edward’s love child? Oh, please say it isn’t so./s

Just what is it that ails these people anyway?

The first place conservatives need to look to understand what is happening is a mirror on their souls. Unfortunately this is a guidedmissile targeted a a peculiar foible of the American evangelical conservative right. The MSM is not doing it because the left cares, but because issues like this have been so effective in the past in fragmenting the conservative base. It is far from madness to keep doing the same thing over and over again when it works over and over again. Now maybe there are a few essential differences that they missed, like it involves a teenage daughter and not the candidate, but still.

You miss the point; Obama's mother had to give birth to him because she lived in the oppressive days that preceded Roe vs. Wade...when a decent Kansas girl was forced to bear the child of an itenerant Kenyan goatherd.

And now Barack gets to make the point that perhaps we'd all be better off if that hadn't happened.

I loves politics. :)

Palin is the only thing on the news.

Whoopeee!!!!!

No Barack, none of the time.

As long as the Dems keep the media focused on our woman, all the better.

Keep it up, boys! The more you boys attack the girl, the worse you look.

Couple this with the fact that Sarah Palin herself may not have had a ring on her finger when she conceived her first child

Governor Palin is celebrating her 20th wedding anniversary. Track is only 18 years old. Of course she was already married.

**Bristol Palin has single-handedly dealt the Republican Party its winning hand. With an economy in decline and an unpopular war started by Republicans, Bristol Palin’s unborn baby has now made the Culture War the focal point of this election. This is one ground and, in fact, the only ground on which Republicans can win this election.**

Pro-life ping!

A great article. We should stop screaming about how unfair the MSM treatments toward Palin . It should have been given that they're going to write negative things about her.

Like it or not, fair or not, Bristol's pregnancy has been a political issue. The way I see it, there are two options:

First, keep complaining about the MSM. As I said above, it won't do any good. We might be seen as whiny. Second, work to frame the issue: it is how we handle 'life happens' that is different from the left, not whether we experience sin or not (we all do).

The issue of abortion has now become a focus. Do we, as pro-life people, want to put the issue on the table and let everybody debate on it? Or we just let others define the issue by avoiding to talk about it publicly?

Your post really sounds foolish...the only reason Palin is being covered by the liberal media is for her negatives...

Some of you really are falling for the liberal trap...your outrage over Palin’s issues have the liberals smiling.

Bristol’s pregnancy may give the Republicans a huge boost.

Teenage pregnancy is something many, many American families have dealt with, if not directly, with a friend or neighbor.

In a lot of ways, the election of Sarah Palin would “legitimize” past out-of-wedlock pregnancies. How many men and women will vote for her on that basis alone?
