Blitzer & Situation Room Sink Into The Liberal Sewer ( Discusion of Gov Palin's daughter )
Strata Sphere ^ | Sep 01 2008 | AJStrata

I just watched the most amazing bit of TV in decades - I cannot wait to see the YouTube version of it. Wolf Ditzer (aka Blitzer) was hosting Gloria Berger, Bill Bennet, Donna Brazille an John King (I believe) on The Situation Room and were discussing young Bristol Palin’s (Governor Palin’s oldest daughter) pregnancy and her plans to have the baby and marry the father. At the center of this discussion was Barack Obama’s call to keep the families (and these personal decisions) off limits. But what does CNN do? They air a woman reporter who ran to Alaska questioning the entire abstinence position of Governor Palin in light of her daughter’s  pregnancy. It was pathetic.

Besides the Duh factor that abstinence works every time it is tried (pregnancies being proof of the opposite) Bill Bennet was rightfully outraged at CNN and Blitzer for bringing the Palin family’s personal issues into the debate like this. Bennett was hammering Blitzer who did not want to concede CNN crossed the line.

John King was looking just stunned and as if he was going to get sick. He wanted nothing to do with the muck raking by CNN.

I am outraged at the way this young lady has been treated.

She made a mistake.

She is doing the right thing.

The misguided folks here castigating her are perilously close to the Pharisees, as though there were such a thing as a sinless candidate with a sinless family.

They are not helping at all.

They only aid the libs in their attempts to charge "Hypocrisy!"

Upfront? (Oh I should know better...and should watch HGTV...BUT)...

Upfront? Ahhh (Obamism there) wasn't Bristol at Wright State w/her mom on Friday? Wasn't she standing there, holding her little brother, wearing her engagement ring? What would you have had Gov. Palin do...as she was introducing her family...include, 'and guess what? I'm gonna be a grandma too!'

Dishonesty is posing as a conservative on FR.

“Looking for that link to a news source from last week showing to the world that Bristol is preggers.”

Up until Friday, no one in the MSM or on the net knew Palin was the VP choice.

Was Palin supposed to make an ‘annoucement’ to the whole MSM that she was the VP pick and her daughter was pregnant, thereby ruining the whole ‘surprise’ McCAIN had on Friday, that got the dems, libtards, nutroots soiling their drawers?

I agree with you again, Charles. And I, like you, by the grace of God, waited until marriage.

Ironically, I’ll bet the people who are for casting the first stone can’t same the same thing.

“No where did I say this scandal is Bristol’s fault.”

Oh please. Just a hundred posts ago - a hundred, ha - just a hundred posts ago you were pounding on that no one saw a problem with an unwed teen pregnancy. Sounded like you wanted the scarlet letter around her neck.

Posters on this forum who are supposedly outraged by a 17 year old now pregnant because she probably had a make out session go to far, are hypocritical if they've ever had premarital sex themselves. In addition, if they've every supported a family member or friend to have an abortion without regret, are disturbing.

And the so-called journalists are hypocrites as well, if they ever had a family member or friend who has experienced this same situation or ever had premarital sex themselves.

Bunch of hypocrites. These are 2 separate issues.

1) Premarital sex
2) Teen pregnancy

Those that have had premarital sex themselves need to sit down, you have no room to talk. Your jugdements of this young girl are hypocritical.

Those condemning a pregnant teen, now making the right decision to let her child live, are disgusting.

Those judging the honesty of the Palin’s ad nauseum, meaning more than 1 “I'm outraged” post, come off as trolls.

I waited for marriage, and am TICKED by how this lady is being treated by both the Left/MSM and the Right. Why crucify her for taking responsibility? She's going to have trouble enough, as a youngster raising a child with her young husband.

Maybe we should all be praying for her, for our nation... and look into our own hearts and cry out to God because of the blackness of OUR sins (and yes, I mean ALL who claim the name of Jesus Christ, no matter how respectable we are outwardly).

“Why was this not disclosed until the last minute before the DUmmies tore it aprt.”

You act as if the DUmmies ‘knew’ about it and were preparing to blow the case wide open.

Until the ‘last minute’ annoucement, the DUmmies knew nothing about it.

They were too ‘high’ on saying that the EX AK. TROOPER raped Bristol, and that Bristol had been pregnant with TRIG, and was pregnant at the same time with this unborn child.

Antics? What an odd choice of wording. What antics has Gov. Palin been up to? Hmmmm?

You are waaaaaay too holier than thou on this one (all over FR all day apparently)...so what gives? You just don't like Palin as McCain's Veep? You just don't like women in positions of power? Or did you invest heavily on Romney over on InTrade? Antics? A little transparency there....

Like I said elsewhere, I never had premarital sex and do not condemn this young lady. She is doing what's right, and needs our prayer and support.

It is better that the media circus over this came sooner rather than later.

The point I was making about abortion, BTW, is the abortion does not change the objective fact of the pregnancy - it merely compounds its moral severity hugely. I rather suspect many of the female journalists reporting (gleefully may I add) on this have conceieved and aborted children, and are therefore FAR WORSE than poor Bristol, who is making provision for this new child she and her boyfriend chose to risk conceiving.

The story was that either the EX TROOPER raped Bristol, or Todd did.

As long as it involved rape, that’s all they seemed to care about.

Now that the information has been spread that Bristol has a boyfriend, or actually, a fiancee, and they are engaged to be married, the air kinda went out of their tires.

They will be looking for something else to drool over.

This is a private matter, and it should have been Bristol's prerogative to treat it that way.

Unrealistic. As soon as someone runs for national office, most everything about their family is exposed to public view and/or ridicule. If they're a social conservative, its 100x worse.

(Which probably has something to do with a lot of good people not wanting to run.)

You and Obama lay off it.

Hypocrite.

It looks to me that I touched a nerve there Mr.Tough Guy!
You still did nor answer my question tough guy..."WHAT is your beef with Sarah Palin and what are you going to gain from besmirching her family, under the veil of "not disclose it in due time" the pregnancy of her daughter.

Man, I really wish, I can meet some of you DU/Daily Kooks face to face,...

Funny you mentioned this.

I told my wife that I am deeply committed to praying for McCain and Palin both through the end of the election. This is just the start of the awful, putrid, disgusting crap that Palin is going to have to put up with. The Devil is alive and well through his conduit of the the evil, ultra liberals.

From this day forward, I pledge to pray a rosary every day for this purpose.

My point exactly.

And based on all the garbage the DUmmies were digging up....

Palin and McCain figured they better release the truth before the media does.

It’s just a shame that McCain/Palin didn’t trust their base well enough to disclose this a week ago.

“McCain/Palin would have been much more credible if they would have owned up to this scandal last week.”

I can just see it.

Monday of last week.... John McCain announces that, for no particular reason at all, he would like to tell the entire US Public that the Governor of Alaska’s daughter is pregnant.
