I just watched the most amazing bit of TV in decades - I cannot wait to see the YouTube version of it. Wolf Ditzer (aka Blitzer) was hosting Gloria Berger, Bill Bennet, Donna Brazille an John King (I believe) on The Situation Room and were discussing young Bristol Palins (Governor Palins oldest daughter) pregnancy and her plans to have the baby and marry the father. At the center of this discussion was Barack Obamas call to keep the families (and these personal decisions) off limits. But what does CNN do? They air a woman reporter who ran to Alaska questioning the entire abstinence position of Governor Palin in light of her daughters pregnancy. It was pathetic.
Besides the Duh factor that abstinence works every time it is tried (pregnancies being proof of the opposite) Bill Bennet was rightfully outraged at CNN and Blitzer for bringing the Palin familys personal issues into the debate like this. Bennett was hammering Blitzer who did not want to concede CNN crossed the line.
John King was looking just stunned and as if he was going to get sick. He wanted nothing to do with the muck raking by CNN.

CNN still on it..24 X 7 Bristol coverage by the jackels at CNN
Good question.
Here’s how McCain/Palin should have handled this....
Last week - as rumors of Palin’s possibilities were being vetted - bloggers should have “leaked” this out.
A few calls to the networks would have sufficed.
They should have given conservatives time to adjust and accept.
Instead, they dumped this news on us without any options.
Will continue to get drawn out and criticized (The "Republican" led ethics committee) by bias news agencies A*cough**cough*P for instance by trying to confuse the ignorant masses. Will it work?
“Cause I will take a stand against immorality.”
Do you think GOD would find it immoral that she got pregnant, and her, her boyfriend, and her family are all pulling together to accept responsibility for the unborn child, and raising it, and they are engaged to be married anyway,
or that he would find it immoral if she aborted it, to help her mom be Vice President?
There are quite a bit of urban women who raised children alone who may be taken for granted as voting for Democrats.
Not so sure they’d be pleased to be treated the way Bristol is being treated and may have something to say about it when election day comes around.
I have only seen the YouTube smack down of Kondracke (by Bill Kristol)...and only know of what I have read here about the media mass p##ing of their pants over this. Adults, pulling in 'ratings' ranting over a 17 year old girls health. Karma folks...she is a b%tch, 'what goes around, comes around.'
Linky, Linky Linky.
I’mhere all day. All night.
Looking for that link to a news source from last week showing to the world that Bristol is preggers.
Anyone who engages on piling on the Clintons, the Gores, the Edwards’, the Kennedy’s and so on and so on....
But thinks we should shut up when this happens to a conservative is.....
A hypocrite.
OTOH it’s a shame that a 17 year old girl has to win our battles for us against the SCUMBAG MAGGOTS OF THE OLD MEDIA.
***That’s because republicans are wusses.
“Prove they hid it.”
In fact isn’t reality exactly the opposite, that in their hometown it was known among the neighbors that she is pregnant.
His “proof” is that McCain didn’t announce it within 10 seconds of Sarah Palin’s selection. I suppose he should’ve just embarrassed her at the Ohio rally. Hell, McCain would’ve been soundly booed off the stage.
I’m not sure your solution answer to me in 222 would result in a link from last week you would find acceptable today. 222 makes it sound as though you are offended you weren’t personally informed so you could “adjust and accept”. Well, “adjust and accept” today. And, if this bothers you that much, don’t vote for the ticket.
“Didn’t announce it” is not the same as “hid it.”
Prove their efforts at concealment.
Of what interest is the daughter’s sin to you? Are you her priest?
If Palin had sinned in a way that the public should know about, that would be a different matter. But the sins of her daughter?
Anyway, it’s not like they hid it. They simply didn’t make it part of the initial announcement.
BTW, being pregnant is not a sin. Having sex was the sin.
So, if her mother knew she was having sex, but she had NOT been pregnant, would you have insisted they tell us that their child was committing adultery? Of what business is that of yours?
You continue to NOT answer that simple question — why do you care that some 17-year-old-girl had sex?
THIS IS NONE OF ANYBODY’S BUSINESS...

It saddens me to see how you have swallowed the Kool-aid.
Just because Obama told you this is “off limits”, does not mean that we are not allowed to discuss it.
“Then why did McCain/Palin handlers hide the truth of this pregnancy until now?”
As I said before, nobody was ‘hiding’ anything.
The Palin’s made a public announcement BEFORE the bloggers and MSM grabbed the concept and ran with it.
They were too busy catching up with the fact that NONE of them had a clue PALIN was going to be the VP choice, and they were all drooling over their ‘speculation’ that TRIG was actually Bristol’s illegitimate son, and that the father was either TODD, or the EX IN-LAW TROOPER that Sarah had fired.
My prediction is that soon they would have proclaimed that the baby belonged to the youngest daughter (Willow), had they not had the admission by the Palin’s that their eldest daughter was pregnant.
Yes.

Well, let’s see Kennedy basically killed a person. Clinton himself who was President had sex with a taxpayer-paid intern. Edwards is running for office under two Americas and is living that. And Gore? What about him?
And what is Bristol Palin running for again? BUELLER??
