I just watched the most amazing bit of TV in decades - I cannot wait to see the YouTube version of it. Wolf Ditzer (aka Blitzer) was hosting Gloria Berger, Bill Bennet, Donna Brazille an John King (I believe) on The Situation Room and were discussing young Bristol Palins (Governor Palins oldest daughter) pregnancy and her plans to have the baby and marry the father. At the center of this discussion was Barack Obamas call to keep the families (and these personal decisions) off limits. But what does CNN do? They air a woman reporter who ran to Alaska questioning the entire abstinence position of Governor Palin in light of her daughters pregnancy. It was pathetic.
Besides the Duh factor that abstinence works every time it is tried (pregnancies being proof of the opposite) Bill Bennet was rightfully outraged at CNN and Blitzer for bringing the Palin familys personal issues into the debate like this. Bennett was hammering Blitzer who did not want to concede CNN crossed the line.
John King was looking just stunned and as if he was going to get sick. He wanted nothing to do with the muck raking by CNN.

You’re welcome Ernest.
No one is praising her for being pregnant. Everyone is praising her for telling her parents and deciding to have her baby and marry her boyfriend.
Most of what you pass off as debate points or arguements are simply lies.
It’s already been proven that they hid nothing. The girl was known to be pregnant and wearing an engagement ring from her boyfriend. You will never sell the lie that because McCain or Palin didn’t announce it to the world prior to or at the time Palin was announced, that they were hiding it.
It isn’t hidden. It’s out there to be known and seen and found out by anyone.
Another lie is that there’s an automatic political issue to be had if the child of a candidate does something or other that’s normally a personal matter. She didn’t commit a crime. She wasn’t arrested, didn’t get pulled over or caught with a phoney ID buying booze, etc. Even if she had, that’s HER, not her mother.
You seem to think you’re hot stuff. You look dishonest, dimwitted and venal, if you ask me.
And even if you didn’t.
If the Republicans had any guts at all, they'd boycott his show and let him sit there at the convention talkin to himself.

> The Dems just cant make this story get legs and start walking.
Oh, I think the story is walking just fine... in the opposite direction of where the RATs think it will walk. Let’s face it, Palin is demonstrating the pro-life walk, even under adversity.
Maybe McCain should’ve announced it when he was intorducing her for the first time in Ohio. /SARCASM
I'm thinking more along the line of politicians of the past, who would have dispatched anyone foolish enough to impugn the integrity and honor of themselves or their families.
I have not seen proof of denial or a cover-up. It is just your emotional concern.
The disclosure would seem to contradict what you are saying.
I would love for Palin to make a frontal assault on the media about this - and capture the votes of millions of mothers - but I doubt the McCain people will allow it.
Now that I have seen the video I will only respect Bill Bennett if we resigns from CNN and puts his money where his mouth is. I agreed with him that it was off limits in that context but we shall see how far he takes his position.
I agree that this will accelerate the complete and total demise of CNN and the others who are doing it too, and that this demise is a GOOD thing for civilization.
OTOH it's a shame that a 17 year old girl has to win our battles for us against the SCUMBAG MAGGOTS OF THE OLD MEDIA.
If you would, go to the Contact page at foxnews.com, choose Special Report, and send an Email to Brit, telling him all that. He needs to hear it from all of us.
I see no relevance for determination of how she will handle being VP. If anything, I am glad she is not choosing to “terminate” the pregnancy.
“You have no concept of moral and social issues, do you?”
OH, I assure you he does.
First, how do you know it was unplanned? Second, Bristol and her family are taking complete responsibility for the situation, and so is the father of the child.
Mostly the ones who don’t even know who the father is, and who abort the child before it is born, or as.
Or who are on drugs, and neglect their newborn.
What we are praising is the STAND UP and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY attitude and actions of the entire PALIN FAMILY.
Cant do it? Thats because it was politically expedient for McCain/Palin to hide that fact.”
Just because YOU didn’t know about, means very little.
EVERYONE in ALASKA knew about it, and both SARAH and her husband made a public announcement about it, instead of waiting for it to be discovered.
No one was ‘hiding’ anything. The media wants you to think so, though.
No, a low-life move is the bloggers that have accused Bristol of being the mother of TRIG, and say the father is either Bristol’s dad, TODD, or the EX TROOPER that Sarah got fired.
That is low-life. Very, bottom of the barrel low-life.
Link please.
You say this was common knowledge?
Link please.
This is no political issue?
I’ve seen thousands of FR threads on this matter today. They must all be about how wonderful this happy news is, right? Certainly YOU don’t believe this is a political issue.
I see you and Obama are in agreement. This is “off limits”.
I've gotten too disgusted just in ordinary terms to watch this doofus DC head, but I sure wish I saw THAT. You ARE disgusting, Mortie, you little belly crawling scumbag.
Yes... it WAS better in the old days when FDR, JFK and LBJ could boink away with bimbos with the press being silent, huh?

No, the disclosure was made just minutes before the liberals ran with the story.
